CNC TechnicianOctober 2013 to April 2015Fibrefusion, Falmouth –Operating a CNC water jet, assisting with CNC router, using advance composites and hydraulic presses, operating general workshop machinery and organising workshop stores. Dealing with suppliers, deliveries and customers.

Assistant EngineerNovember 2012 to July 2013RNS Defender, 125 ft, 1978 Ex-Oman Navy vessel, Cornwall –Assisting in carry out work whilst in dry dock, installing new prop shafts and props, antifouling and painting topsides. Taking part in sea trials, refitting internal living quarters, installing new deck plates in the engine room and machinery through out and help making her generally sea worthy. Being part of the watch system as assistant engineer and having to perform other crew duties whilst sailing the ship from Falmouth to Senegal as part of a skeleton crew. Also having to liaise with overseas suppliers and obtain parts necessary for repairs to the ship.

Hobbies and InterestsPersonal interests include outdoor pursuits such as sailing and fishing which reflect my passion for the sea and the marine sector. In 2014/15 I spent time building my own 16ft carbon composite boat that I use regularly during the summer months to facilitate my other hobbies and maintain and service personally during the winter period. Assisting Falmouth Marine School with the installation of ‘A Ship in A Box’ project that will enable the college to provide MCA Approved Engine Course (AEC) certified training. I also enjoy travelling, seeing and experiencing different cultures.
