• Girls need to see a nurturing male in order to see what kind of men they’d like to have in their lives

• Low status and pay

• Perception of teaching is “women’s work”

• The fear of accusation of child abuse

Ways to Get More Men Involved• Encourage male

volunteers and work study students to consider teaching as a career

• Ask men staff to recruit other men

• Advertise the need for male teachers
