Term 3 ‘Learning for the Future ‘ 23rd September 2015 Dear Parents & Caregivers, Tena koutou katoa Staff Car Park - We have put a chain across the entrance to the staff car park. This is because a number of parents continually drop their children off in the carpark. We have special services buses and taxis that use this space before and after school, as well as couriers and other staff who visit the school. The carpark is an unsafe area to drop off or pick up children, visibilty is poor and the space is very limited. Kamo Primary Twilight Gala 20th November - This is fast approaching if you can help out we would really appreciate this. (see separate notice with today’s newsletter) Loud Shirt Day - Thank you to all those children/families who donated to this wonderful cause. We raised over $150. Kowhai Syndicate - Book Character Parade Thursday at 9.30am. Come as a NZ book character if you can. If not any favourite book character will be wonderful. Kapa Haka Combo night (see separate notice) We look forward to seeing you all at the Kapa haka Combo tomorrow night. All Kapa haka children are required to be at the Kamo High School hall by 5:00pm. We would love you to bring the whanau and come and watch your children perform. Unfortunately the Kapa haka Regional Competition has been cancelled for 2015. Our children have worked hard towards this competition so rather than disappoint them further, we have decided to accept invitations to two school cultural festivals where they will have the opportunity to perform with other primary school children from around our area. Arrangements are in progress. Further details will be sent out early next term. Ken Ward - Principal Preschoolers - Kamo Primary School Due to an increasing roll we need to maintain accurate records of our pre-enrolments. This enables us to plan for future classroom spacing and staffing. If you would like your child to attend Kamo Primary School and you live in zone please contact the school to place your child on our pre-enrolment list. (18 months prior to them turning 5). Please note we have no spaces available in 2016 for out of zone children unless they come under Priority 2(sibling of current student), Priority 3 (sibling of former student) or Priority 5 (a child of an employee or Board of Trustees). If you are unsure of where our zone is, please contact the school or visit our website: www.kamoprimary.school.nz

Today we had science with Robyn, we put in water and food colouring and oil. I thought that it would make an explosion but it didn’t it changed colour.

Luke Schoemaker

In science with Robyn we made fireworks. It was fun. It was amazing when it it looked like coke. We used water and food colouring and oil. It fell to the bottom. I enjoyed it. I was impressed. It was colourful.
