The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a simple, open protocol that enables new multimedia applications for voice, data and video. The OmniPCX Enterprise handles SIP phones the same way as any other proprietary sets, providing powerful features, including telephony services (multi-line, supervision, twin sets, manager/assistant, hotel and hospitality specific applications, group calls, etc.); use of prefix (forward, substitution, wake-up, etc.); CSTA monitoring, etc.[End of response]

ALE International Response:

SIP trunking replaces Q signaling (QSIG), a protocol for private trunking, or Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) public trunking in enterprise IP networks.

ALE International Response:

Web services are essential building blocks for distributed computing on the internet. Web services provide the link between the world of telephony and that of the web, connecting ALE International communication services to customer business applications. In the current OpenTouch solutions, two sets of web services are available:

– A set of Web Services in REST technology, for Connection users and Conversation users, offer to applications an access to almost all OpenTouch features.

– A set of Web Services in SOAP/XML (compatible with former 8410 ICS) and apply only to Connection users.

ALE International web services are designed to:– Ease integration across heterogeneous vendor environments– Implement easily interactions between OpenTouch and the customer’s

ecosystem (CRM, productivity tools, etc.)– Reduce the time and complexity of interfacing– Simplify the creation of new services and applications– Reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) by minimizing installation time and

administrative costsThe collection of REST web services is available for Connection and Conversation users:

– Basic Telephony Web Services to make, take or release a call on user’s own devices

– Conversation Web Services (was called “Advanced Telephony Web Services”) offer a rich set of features allowing application to manage OpenTouch conversationso Presence to get and set all types of user presences (telephonic, IM, mood

phrase)o Call control with support of multi-participants callso Groupware to control the supervision service o Routing profiles managemento Communication logo Directory lookupo Voice messaging to play and record messages on user’s mailboxo Instant messaging to manage IM sessions, send and receive messageso Conferencing to manage its conferences CRUD, add/remove participants,
