Sproat lake Volunteer Fire Department We have three volunteer fire departments in the Regional District of Port Alberni which are responsible for fire protection, Sproat Lake, Beaver Creek and Cherry Creek. These men and women give up an evening a week to practice their skills in order to be ready to attend structure fires and First Responder calls. Joe lamoureux has been a member of the Sproat Lake Department for 6 years.

The City of Port Alberni and the Alberni Junior Baseball Association were successful in completing their new baseball complex in 2011. What a gem they have turned out to be! The Junior Baseball program is for boys and girls ages 5 to 17. The program aspires to teach responsibility and accountability both on and off the field, while having fun and learning the game of baseball. Sports play an important part of Vicky’s life and her passion for baseball is obvious. She welcomes you to the Season Opening Day on April 28th at the new facility.
