Al Boom Diving GO BEYOND YOUR WORLD Photo Competition 15 of the best chosen entries will be exhibited at the Al Boom Diving's massive stand at DMEX-M10, (Dubai International Boat Show 2013, DMEX)

Aqualung have released some incredible graphics of people choosing scuba diving over their lifestyles - going beyond their world! Al Boom Diving is looking for ideas on how we can relate this to the UAE.

We all want to share our underwater experience, our passion and our care for ocean with fellow divers and as well as non divers.

If you are joining this theme photo competition, you are most likely an active person who shares a passion for the outdoors or physical activities and of course Scuba Diving. Scuba diving is a great family activity that can be relaxing, technical or adrenaline charged. One thing is for sure, it is a life changing experience, one full of discoveries, fun and that you can share with millions of people around the world.

1. This competition is open to residents of the UAE, aged 10 years or over, except for employees of Al Boom Diving.

2. Each participant can submit at most five (5) photographs that reflect our theme – GO BEYOND YOUR WORLD

(Note: The photos have to be related to scuba diving, but not necessary underwater)

3. 15 of the best chosen entries will be exhibited at the Al Boom Diving's massive stand at DMEX-M10.

4. Participants may use any Digital or Film based camera.

5. White borders around the area are optional, but should not exceed one inch (1") on all sides. B&W, sepia tone, colored, digital or digitally converted film negative entries will be accepted. All types of watermarks on the photograph or any symbol indicative of the photographer’s identity is not allowed. Non-compliance will result in the deduction of three (3) points on the total score.

6. Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure, such as multiple exposures, flash fill, lighting, filtration, etc. are allowed. Digital retouching IS TOLERABLE on density, contrast adjustments, minor cropping on composition, burning, and dodging, and global adjustments. Major manipulation of main images through adding and subtracting are NOT allowed. Non-compliance will be disqualified.

7. All digital photo entries should include an EXIF for validation purposes. In the event the photo has been processed enough to lose it's EXIF, please do include a downsized original file with the EXIF intact.

8. All entries must have a title and brief photo description which explains the main theme and story of the photo entry.

10. Participants should submit the entry to Jon Viray, (jon@alboomdiving.ae/+971557184526) on or before 28th of February. Entries must be labeled with the entrant’s name and image files must be at least 100 dpi and maximum 5 MB. Entrants should include their own name and telephone number.

Technical quality 15% TOTAL 100% 9. Each entry will be judged individually. Winners will be announced and awarded at the Dubai International Boat Show DMEX 2013 on March 8, 2013.

10. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions. 11. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.

12. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

13. The winning entry will be the most visually appealing, original and self-explanatory. Chosen 15 entries will be notified after 28th of February via e-mail or phone (The closing date is midnight on Thursday, February 28, 2013).

14. Prizes awaits the winning entry (1st Prize and 2nd Prize).

2nd Prize - Aqualung Infinity Mask, Air Dry Purge Snorkel and Slingshot Fins (Total 1100+ aed)

15. The winners may be required to take part in publicity.

16. The prizes as described are available on the date of publication. All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives.
