All India Road Show for Women’s Economic Empowerment through Entrepreneurship

(AIRSWEEE) Started with a Bang in SR Engineering College, Warangal, Telangana.

AIRSWEEE is funded by a grant from US Mission to India with a motive to empower

Indian women thru workshops in 5 different Tier II cities starting from Warangal

followed by Coimbatore, Jaipur, Durgapur and Nagpur.

The 25 participants were shortlisted from 200 applicants from diverse sectors like

Handloom, IT, Education, Heath, Retail, Beauty participated.

The U.S based mentors roped in for the program are Ms Seema Chaturvedi (Managing Director, Accelerator group LLC.), Ms Komal Goyal (CEO, 6E technologies Inc) and Ms Kanchana Raman (CEO, AVION SYSTEMS Inc). The Indian Mentors roped in for the program include Ms Madhavi Vupplapati (CEO, Prithvi information systems), Ms Shravya Reddy (Founder, Presidency High school, Nizamabad), Ms Ekta Bahl (Partner, Samvad Partners), Ms Neeharika Katikaneni (CEO, Oyster party sales).

The Chief Guest Ms Amrapali’s expressed respect towards the women entrepreneurs

who manage their businesses along with the family and still striving hard to be at par

with men in the businesses in her address during the inaugural.

Mr Gabriel Hons-Olivier in his remarks described the various activities of the US

Consulate - besides delivering visas. He also mentioned about how US believes that

this workshop along with all similar workshops will help economic empowerment of

women in Telangana and other states. The progress or growth will definitely be seen

as social changes through the efforts of these women entrepreneurs in India.

All the dignitaries on the dais lauded the US consulate’s efforts to empower women in

India during their talk.

Visit to an NGO : SOPAR - Bala Vikasa

Our delegation visited SOPAR-Bala Vikasa which is a non-profit organization devoted

to sustainable development in India. Their approach is to help communities help

themselves by providing rural villagers with the tools and resources they need to

transform their lives. They aim to empower rural poor, illiterate and marginalized

women on a variety of levels: social, economic, intellectual, psychological, moral and

ethical, in order to bring lasting and sustainable change to local communities and the

society as a whole.
