AIRE-O 2 TRITON ® TR SERIESThe effective, flexible, reliable solution to deliver more oxygen
Since 1974, Aeration Industries® International has been providing innovative wastewater treatment solutions to more than 110 countries globally. We offer customized designs and solutions to meet your treatment needs, including: equipment sizing and performance calculations, process guarantees, equipment start-up, service contracts, and extended warranties.
With our patented Aire-O2 Triton® TR Series aerator and mixer, Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) is simple and cost effective with the ability of decoupling aeration from mixing. The Triton’s proprietary engineered propeller and diffuser results in high oxygen transfer and effective mixing capabilities up to 33ft/10m deep. During the aerate and mix mode, the Triton housing is pressurized utilizing a premium efficiency regenerative blower, which forces air to the lower end of the Triton. The air is then sheared into fine bubbles for optimal oxygen transfer efficiency. Mix only mode can be used to create anoxic conditions to achieve denitrification. To reduce energy consumption and monitor ever-changing process conditions, the Triton can be coupled with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and instrumentation. This system optimizes aeration and mixing efficiency to achieve the ideal solution for new construction, retrofit, and supplemental aeration needs.
The Triton is well suited to meet aeration and mixing needs in new construction or upgrades for conventional activated sludge plants, Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR), oxidation ditches, lagoons, digesters, and Equalization Basins (EQ).
CAPABILITIES• Oxygen dispersion is optimal with the Aire-O2 Triton’s unique propeller design. The propeller ensures
proper mixing, enhancing wastewater kinetics, and eliminating dead zones.
• The average bubble size is 2.0 millimeters, meeting the optimum size of 2.2 millimeters established by the U.S. EPA for fine bubble aeration.
• High bulk-flow movement coupled with directional induction of air results in extended bubble hang time to achieve optimal oxygen transfer.
• Deep mixing capabilities up to 33ft/10m are accomplished with its integral 8-pole mixer motor.
2
• Dual operation (aerate+ mixing mode) provides aerobic conditions for BOD and ammonia reduction. The mixing only mode provides anoxic conditions for denitrification
• By utilizing VFDs and instrumentation allows for turn-down capabilities up to 75%, offering energy savings
• Sub-surface aeration and mixing eliminates odor causing pathogen laden aerosols
• Maintenance is made safe and easy with flexible mounting options and accessories
• Installation is simple. Upgrades can be done without significant treatment interruption
• Compact footprint with deep mixing ability. Keeps solids in suspension and eliminates dead zones

AIRE-O 2 SYSTEM OFFERINGS
The Aire-O2 Triton is ideally suited to use control systems for real time dissolved oxygen (DO), oxidation-reduction potential (ORP)/redox, or ammonia measurements to continuously adjust the aerator output based on ever-changing wastewater conditions. In conjunction with process instrumentation, Aeration Industries utilizes variable speed drives to adjust the output of the equipment based on diurnal loading changes of the influent stream. The independent Triton blower allows the ability to optimize mixing separate from the aeration. During non-peak hours, the Triton mixer automatically reduces speed to conserve energy consumption while maintaining consistent mixing.

The graphs below illustrate the energy savings achieved by using Aeration Industries’ VFD based control strategy. With these controls, the mixer and blower adjust based on programmed algorithms to slowly regulate the motors’ frequency (speed) linked to the DO set point. In this example, the VFD control strategy allows for a 50% reduction in daily energy consumption (Aeration Industries’ VFD control strategy can provide up to 75%) while maintaining consistent process conditions for healthy biomass growth and superior effluent quality. The Triton can also utilize ON/OFF control, a simple method of maintaining a target DO without the need for VFDs.

The Argos® Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) is a True Batch SBR system that combines capabilities of anaerobic, anoxic, aerobic, and secondary clarification into one basin. Providing:• Fully optimized energy use throughout SBR cycle.• Aeration and mixing match loads throughout full cycle.• Flexibility in various water levels with Guide Rails.
• The Aire-O2 Tri-Oval® system incorporates the Aire-O2 Triton’s directional aerator to maintain an efficient, complete mix channel.• Consistent, reliable treatment results.

The Aire-O2 Triton offers complete process control for greenfield or an existing system upgrade, providing the ideal solution for activated sludge systems. The Aire-O2 Triton creates no aerosols from splashing water into the atmosphere and does not carry submerged parts which may foul or cause failing seals over time. Ease of operation and maintenance was custom designed for the Aire-O2 Triton and its mounting solutions. Maintenance can be carried out by operators on a single unit in a matter of minutes.

BASIN OPTIMIZATION & OXYGEN DISPERSION
The Aire-O2 TR series utilizes directional mixing and low speed thrust creating a high bulk-flow movement within the basin. This promotes ideal oxygen dispersion independent of the basin geometry. Recapture lost basin volume and increase efficiency with complete equipment replacement or supplemental aeration. Basin optimization provides the ability to treat additional flow and/or loading by eliminating sludge settling and maintaining facility capacity, while increasing the lifespan of existing treatment facilities.
• Proven to help customers reduce sludge by 17% when replacing aging and inefficient vertical rotor and high speed splasher equipment (case study available)
• Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) increased after sludge removal which improved basin efficiency by 30%
• Flows can continue through basin during upgrades
