Desiccant Packaged Technology: BENDIG Desiccant Packaged Air Handling Unit (DP-AHU) are intended for mass transfer of water vapor for use in desiccant dehumidi-fication and desiccant cooling equipment. For use in this broad range of applications, BENDIG has been engineered for maximum durability under operating condition serve.

BENDIG DP-AHU is particularly suited to provide independently humidity control for anywhere needed to control %RH at lower than 35%. DP –AHU is able to maintain in-door air conditions a dry and cool comfort zone suitable to the patrons of the establish-ment while avoiding the “cold and clammy” feel associated with traditional humidity con-trol via overcooling with both DX and/or CWC

Smart Energy Consumption:

When the latent load has been removed from the system and reach the control

condition, our smart SCR controller will re-duce the percentage of Electric Heater operat-ing for preserving energy consumption and maintaining occupy zone condition effectively.

Longevity:

Properly used and maintained, BENDIG DP-AHU is designed for 87,600 hours (appx. 10 years) of continuous use. This longevity sta-tistic is based on maintaining 90% minimum of full rated performance.

Desiccant Packaged Air Handling Unit from BENDIG are single sta on where provide dry‐cooling condi‐

on in occupy space. This help reduce installa on area, easy to maintenance in single source sta on, lower risk of leakage where difficult to control the dew point temperature.

Independent Humidity Control:

Low humidity control: (Below 35% RH)

BENDIG DP-AHU is suitable for low humidity control condition (Espectially below 35%RH). The low dew-point temperature shall be managed and removed latent heat from air steam by Desiccant wheel. AHRI-Certified Desiccant wheel consumes low energy consumption and performs precisely relative hu-midity control for the room condition. Above 35%, we are also recommend to use desiccant wheel as dry-cooling process to reduce latent heat and raise up a little bit sensible temperature to preserve energy consumption.

BENDIG DP-AHU optionally can provide direct expansion for cooling process in DP-AHU. This can help the unit eliminates limitation of cooling source from existing plant. DP-AHU can operate stand-alone with combine CDU as an optional, or chilled water coil for standard unit.

As see in the right photo the DP‐AHU com‐bine with conven on al DX system from other CDU manufacturers. Our engineers can provide stabilized controller to ensure the remains of room condi on.

Two kinds of desiccant rotors available in BENDIG DP‐AHU.

First, wound silica gel, as high performance silicagel and sec‐ond one is low‐dewpoint tem‐perature molecular sieve desic‐cant rotor.

Energy Saving with SCR controller:

Dehumidifying without raising supply temp.

BENDIG DP-AHU standard controller combine with Smart-SCR controller, where helps reactivation side preserve energy con-sumption after air steam reach the dew-point temperature. Percentage of current supply shall be reduced dramatically until supply air dewpoint temperature is maintained. Therefore, the energy consumption shall be lower than conventional step con-troller.

BENDIG DP-AHU maintains the supply temperature by recool-ing coil. This can reduce sensible heat from desiccant rotor and make the supply air in comfort condition.

Process and standard equipment in DP-AHU

Sequence of component in BENDIG DP-AHU typically ensures easy maintenance and access to component. Every com-ponents installed follow as engineering requirement from original manufacturer. We ensure the dew point temperature in each air stage where guarantee the supply air condition to occupy zone.

1. Filtration section:

The following sections of filters are included in the DP-AHU standardize range:

Preliminary filters, in which the fil-tering mat is mounted in zigzag fashion. As a result, the filtering area is larger, the air flow rate is low, and the service interval for re-placement or cleaning is longer.

Medium filter optionally can be V-shape as shown in picture-1 and or

Bag-filter. They all have their individual frame and air tight seal. They are particularly recommended for installations requiring extra-pure air.

Absolute filters, with an efficiency of almost 100% as indicated by the name.

Filter bypass leakage of DP-AHU follow as EN1886: F9 class where maximize low-leakage rate of filter bypass be-tween air filter and AHU frame.

2. Fan Section:

Standard fan in DP-AHU is open-wheel type AKA Plug-Fan. As shown in pic-ture-2, fan is direct-driven, easy to maintenance and High—efficiency.

3. Cooling Battery (Pre-Cooling):

Cooling coil where remove sensible load and moisture content in air steam., we can supply in 2 options, Chilled water coil and Direct-Expansion coil. We can offer copper-fin and copper tube as optional and increase special fin-coating for preventing high corro-sive condition. (see below photo).

4. Desiccant Section:

This section removes latent heat from air steam. We can provide 2 kinds of desiccant media, Wound-Silica-Gel and Molecular-Sieve desiccant. Wound silica gefl is appropriate for high temperature regeneration while Molecular sieve is suitable for low-temperature and rapid ROI.

5. Post Cooling coil:

Material and function are slightly the same as Pre cooling section but Post cooling section main function always plays as sensible load and control sup-ply air as occupy zone request.

6. Heating battery:

DP-AHU provides Electric Heater as standard product but in case of cus-tomer have another heating source such as Hot-water, Steam, Gas Turbine, it can be customized design as per your request.

7. Regeneration Fan:

DP-AHU uses Flange type motor as our standard product for Regen Fan. This help fan motor keeps away from heat load from Desiccant. then motor life time shall be longer. We can also pro-vide explosion proof fan for special use and high explosive zone follow as ATEX or IEC-EX directive (see photo below).

Perfection on basis:

Unit Frame-Works:

BENDIG DP-AHU standard frame works are made SS400 grade steel profile which are in the same specification of High-rise building structure. To ensure maximum quality and last longer life-span unit operation, every BENDIG AHU also use this standard steel for unit frame-works and intermediated profile.

Controller:

Controller for DP-AHU is standard set from factory. BENDIG provide 4 safety functions to minimize heat-source risk of flammable (Heating element). Low flow, No flow, High temp cut and High temp (Heating element) cut also be provided within standard controller system in BENDIG DP-AHU.

None Combustion panel:

BENDIG DP-AHU panel thickness standard is non-combustion and asbestos free to ensure healthy and safety of everyone who involve with occupy zone. Even insulation burn, no any harmful contamination in the air steam.

Heat Source:

Standard reactivated using electric resistance(indirect), steam, (indirect) hot water coil. Additionally, waste heat may be utilized for instance condenser coil. Heating element shall be equipped with safety device as our control standard for preventing exceeding temperature limitation.

Cooling Source:

BENDIG DP-AHU is available for both Direct Expansion and Chilled water coil as cooling battery for sensible cooling only and/or cool-ing and dehumidifying process.

Desiccant wheel:

BENDIG DP-AHU is available with 3 kinds of desiccant wheel follow as below.

1. High performance silica-gel

2. Molecular-sieve desiccant rotor

3. Low temperature regeneration

Plug and Play:

DP-AHU by BENDIG are produced as com-plete set packaged and factory tested for certi-fied performance before delivery to customer.

Both sensible and latent heat shall be tested to ensure the output of unit will meet the customer requirement.

Easily to access and maintenance:

DP-AHU provides access panel as per our standard for reducing maintenance hour where enhance any action performance relat-ing to the unit . This helps a lot for technician and staff down-time reduction.

Accuracy dew point temperature

As per packaged unit, thanks for EN1886 AHU casing leakaged rate certified from Eurovent. This helps BENDIG DP-AHU to minimize air leakaged rate where direct effected to dew-point temperature of the unit. This can ensure customer that the DP-AHU provided by BEN-DIG will perform accuracy dew point tempera-ture.

BENDIG DP-AHU reduces sensible heat and some of moisture content removed by evaporator coil in 1st stage. Next, the air shall be removed latent heat by Des-iccant Rotor(2). The final stage (3), hot and dry air shall be re-cooled again before distribute into the occupy area.

After moisture content are continuous removet from the system, the air steam shall be divided into 2 portion. Most of air still be active heating and dehumidifying process from Desiccant wheel but some of them pass through and mix the most air portion (4). Finally, air will re-cooled again and supply into the system.

Another way to preserve energy consumption for desiccant process is to reduce power consumption in regeneration side and maintain dew point temperature of process side.

instead of electric heater. The energy for regeneration of this system

is waste energy from air cooled condenser. Thank for Hot-Gas re-

heat know-how to increase efficiency for DP-AHU and lower COP of

compressor in evaporator side.

Total energy consumption of DP-AHU + Energy recovery is 64.2 kW. For Standard AHU+Electric Heater is 85.2 kW. The energy saving from total energy consumption is more than 25%.

Energy Saving:

When Desiccant Packaged AHU corporate with condensing unit, BENDIG can manage waste energy (Heat source) from condensing unit bring back to regenerated desiccant rotor. Thanks for Hot-Gas reheating technology to reduce Electric Heater energy consumption. Normally, the regeneration tem-perature should be at least 65C. With heat-source from CDU, we can manage almost 100% of waste energy to save energy consumption from electricity.

This not only saves energy consumption from regeneration side only but also raises up COP of compressor from Evap side.
