• A campaign of America Saves, a program of the Consumer Federation of America Foundation (CFA)

• Nationwide social marketing campaign to encourage Americans to build wealth and eliminate debt

America Saves and DoD• DoD partnered with CFA through an

MOU to establish Saves in the Military Services

• Goal is to increase financially responsible behavior among military personnel

• Seeks to institutionalize financial preparedness as part of military preparedness by establishing new norms and organizational support for these norms

• Desired “new norms”– No or manageable debts– Adequate savings

• Organizational support– Effective delivery of powerful message
