Site DescriptionMobimbi Isolated patch of tall forest. Very hilly and rocky area close to SRL HQ,
threat of farming on the other side. Top soil enriched by presence foliage and litter

Lanti Canal at Bonjema
Incomplete reclamation of a canal constructed to move the dredge. Replanted with Acacia species and and few Anacardium occidentale and Elaeis guineensis.
Bamba Adjacent to area mined between 1986 and 1989- rehabilitation activities cashew (Anacardium occidentale) and Acacia species
Belebu Adjacent to areas mined between 1986 and 1989- rehabilitation activities cashew (Anacardium occidentale) and coconut (Cocus nurifera)

Adjacent to sand mounds and an extensive (~7km long) lake at this site
3. Experimental Restoration Very poor growing conditions on the sand tailings following mining (~0.07% C and ~0.003% N). The
project encouraged a decentralised business reclamation initiative - compost and seedling
production in local villages
