Aikman Wildlife Adventure – Summer of 2016 My name is James Aikman and my wife, Kelsey, and I would like to let you know about the newest tourist attraction being developed in central Illinois – Aikman Wildlife Adventure. We are working on purchasing at least 40 acres of farm ground in the heart of central Illinois, and we will be building our home on the land. More importantly though we are beginning the steps needed to open Aikman Wildlife Adventure to the public. This is a wildlife drive-through park where you can get up close and personal with animals that can only be seen behind fencing at zoos or on television. You can feed the animals right out of your vehicle while driving the 1-mile long path through the 25-acre Sanctuary. Once you’ve gone through the Sanctuary you will be able to see other animals at the Park; fox of different colors, raccoons, kangaroos, and flying squirrels, all in their own large habitats. You will be able to walk around inside the 7,000 square foot Aviary to see, feed and interact with birds of all kinds. Kids will love going into the petting zoo with goats, sheep, bunnies and baby animals. We will be located in the Arthur area, and less than 12 miles from Interstate 57. We are reaching out to our local businesses to give them the opportunity to partner with us as an annual sponsor or as a “Naming Rights” sponsor. Our season will run March 15 – November 22 & by appointment-only after that. We are estimating the following annual attendance from our research, but feel that these are very conservative numbers: Year 1 – 25,000 Year 5 – 51,840 Year 9 – 75,900 Year 13 – 96,650 Year 17 – 117,477 Year 2 – 30,000 Year 6 – 57,024 Year 10 – 83,490 Year 14 – 101,481 Year 18 – 123,351 Year 3 – 36,000 Year 7 – 62,727 Year 11 – 87,663 Year 15 – 106,555 Year 19 – 129,520 Year 4 – 43,200 Year 8 – 69,000 Year 12 – 92,046 Year 16 – 111,883 Year 20 – 135,995 ~ 1 Year Sponsor commitment: $50,000 - $25,000 - $10,000 - $5,000 - $1,000 - $500 ~ As a former president of the Arthur Area Association of Commerce, a Village Board member and a businessman myself, I fully understand the importance and impact that tourism and successful businesses have on our local economy. Our area already has so much to offer and we feel that this will be another huge attraction to further support and compliment everything already here. We have no doubt that this will help bring more people to our area, which means more people staying in our hotels, eating at our restaurants and shopping at our businesses. On behalf of Aikman Wildlife Adventure, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read and consider this. I understand you are very busy and I also understand that the decision to spend money is not something to be taken lightly. I would encourage you to please contact me with any questions, concerns or ideas you might have in regards to the tourism attraction we are working to establish for the area. I would love to sit down with you face-to-face to discuss your support at your earliest convenience. We look forward to working with you. Sincerely, James and Kelsey Aikman Owners of Aikman Wildlife Adventure 418 E. Columbia St. Arthur, IL 61911 217-259-9603 [email protected]
