What is A&I?• A web-based system that

furnishes useful motor carrier safety information over the internet.

• An improved way to communicate and interact with FMCSA employees, industry, motor carrier associations, shippers, insurers, other government agencies, and the American People.

• A system designed to promote motor carrier self-improvement.

How Can A&I be Used?• Obtain safety information about thousands

of commercial truck and bus companies• Retrieve state-by-state lists of companies

with the worst safety records• Review summary statistics on FMCSA

safety programs at the state and national level

• Identify truck-related safety problems in specific geographical areas

• Compare state crash statistics to national crash figures

What is the International Module?

• The A&I International Module presents information and statistics on the U.S. operations of U.S. DOT registered interstate motor carriers and HM intrastate motor carriers broken out by the national domicile of the carrier.

• Data is based on the Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS)

• Areas covered include:– Roadside Inspections– Traffic Enforcements– Compliance Reviews– Crash Data– Border Crossing Data

What Motor Carriers are Covered?

• Carriers with an active U.S. DOT number. • Interstate carriers and Intrastate HM carriers

only.– Does not include shipper-only operations, "other"

registrants, or non-HM intrastate carriers.

• All 50 states and D.C., U.S. territories, and all of Mexico and Canada.
