You can easily see couples that use thesame headphones by one per each.Some people request radio or T Vprograms to play their favorite songs or in concert people get in to same mode by sharing the music.

zap! is designed to improve the social side of listening and sharing music by a legal way. Today, almost everyone has a MP3 player and/or USB disks. People can plug their music devices into zap! and play their personal songs in a social environment. Thus, listening to music activity has a new aspect that provides sharing and mixing all emotions.

Technical DetailsThe exterior surface of product is made form ABS plastic and produced with injection moulding. It is not necessary to use a new technology for technical properties. Data transferring is supplied by USB interface. Product is sold with a CD or USB which contains the programs and drivers so device can be identified by computer.

Intensive Program:From 8 different countries 120 students gathered for a workshop.

The workshop has two parts.In the morning lectures international experts instructed the students in Innovation Management Techniques

In the afternoon, students use these techniques to create real-world projects.

Project and Company Information:Umbrosa is a European leader in shading products (Umbrella’s, Sails, …).

Which sells both to the consumer market and the contract market (Hotels, Restaurants, …)

Company inform our group to create a product to solve three additional needs,These three needs are

- The need for lightning, for evening.- The need for heating, for the evening and the “after season”.

- The need for cooling, for the day.

All three needs are currently being met with different systems or appliancesLightning is being solved in the traditional way, although the introduction of LEDs is rapidly finding its way.

Heating is being solved in traditional by either electrical heaters or gas heaters.Cooling is a “recently” introduced aspect and is being solved by the spraying of water cloud with a high pres-

sure system.

The solution must be the combination of all systems in one product.

Choosed systems to solve problems:Lighning: LED’s Heating: Heatstrips Cooling: Water Misting All human needs that are mentioned at the

brief has taken in to consideration individually. Priority of the product is comfort and it is solved accordingly to the other design criterias since it’s designed for outdoor.

Lightning:Firstly for the lightning problem there are a lot of different solutions. The ambient is important as much as the lightning so we need some color and dimmable lights. After research and brainstorming it is decided that LED usage fulfils our requests. Heating:Secondly for heating problem we need an ecological and healthy solution. It is chosen from a number of energy sources and heating devices. After studying on these systems the most suitable one is the heating strips.

Cooling:Thirdly for cooling problem there aren’t not too many options so misting is the most efficient option that is available.

The bottom part of the product has two functions. The first function is to make it gain the ability to rotate 360 degrees so the product can be available from any directions. Users choose a place for the product and create a living place around that area. The second function is to provide balance by the storage part where water tank and other system parts are placed.

Digital TouchscreenControl of the product is made through a digital touch screen. The usage of the control panel seems like this. First user chooses the function, when the function is touched , the details appear on screen. But the second touch on the function graphic the system brings the main menu back.

Project brief is designing a promotional lighting that refers to corporate identity for bars and restaurants.

Miller has been chosen as the company. When Miller’s corporate structure is analyzed, we got the conclusion that it is mainly build on city, music and night.

Considering joyful chemistry of music, led modules located behind the acrylic parts and provide play of light with various color and intensity.

Complex Digital Music Data

A computer program simplifies the digital music data and creates the graph for the led strings. The color of the column depends on the chosen mood.

The main form of the lightning is an abstraction of city profile. The material is acrylic sheets and they are fixed to the main lightning that has the Miller logo on. All the leds which are hidden behind the acrylic profile have different colors and they have different synchronous based on the music.

To design a new public bus for Istanbul , at first ,we try to understand the whole city and where we live. Since the city is a metropole it’s our main concern to learn the colors, sounds, patterns and the social structure of residents.

After using all bus lines, visiting all districts and walking every street in this city , we decided to build a concept just like Istanbul which is “contrast”.

Research

The group divided into the city trying to find some useful information and to understand the structure of the transportation system of Istanbul.

Shortly afterwards ,shot some photos and talked to people and bus drivers to create a problem chart.

All information categorized on an Istanbul map and try to understand the differences between the districts, the effect of the sea, effect of the cultural substructure to the transportation and other factors.

Research results

After the research process the resulting data has been reviewed in detail, so with this information we decided the concept we agree to work on the word “contrast” because it represents the chaotic structure of the city. Istanbul’s biggest problem about the transportation is the traffic. The most realistic way to resolve this problem is increase the use of public transports. According to the time of distribution of passengers through the day the numbers are too unstable and the bus needs to adapt this imbalance. In the rush hours buses carry lots of passengers at the same time because all the purpose of the passengers during that time period is to reach the point where they have to be. After the rush hours the bus has to adapt this new situation and the priority will change from creating wider areas to the comfort of the passengers.

who need to use bus is increased

The seats fold down and move up so the bus capacity increases

During the journey the seats at the top becomes storage shelfs for bags or other staff

that people can place

Because the high capacity of the bus passengers has a choice to get in and get out

from any door not just from front to backBy the help of RFID technology everybody has a ticket card to identify their presence

when someone ttry to enter the bus without this card there will be a warning

After the rush hours bus driver change the seats to their original possition

So lots of people can sit during the travel

Before going to service driver push a button and the capacity of bus will increase

Clock’s concept is inspired from the time that we spend to organize our job ambient, the time that we spend to make our surroundings comfortable, the time that we spend on working.

The key word of concept is “flexibility”

Vx700 Validator

Company: VerifoneBrief: Verifone marketing department decided to sell their Vx700 POS trough a new product. They want us to design a payment validator for public busses. Design: After research and get a detailed brief from Verifone, we decided that our most important mission is to design a product with a low production cost. We solve this problem by using aliminium extrusion. Also we found that if we use this technology we can create two moduler part which can be slided into each other. One part is for assembly to the bus, then other main part which contains Vx700, contacless reader and electronic board slided into the first part. If there is any problem with the validator, technical team easily unplug the damaged product and slide into a new one and then take the damaged product to repair.

Company: TaksimediaBrief: Advertisement TV for public TAXI’sDesign: Taksimedia is a publicity agency. Most of their works is about advertisement in public transportations. The design brief is about to create a new way of interacting with people. A person who uses taxi for transportation is our target audience. Main goal of this project is to create a interactive space behind the driver in the back seats. Putting lights behind head-rests is obtaining customers to read anything without disturbing the driver. Also I have solved a assembly detail for putting a TV in front of people. User can choose different channels from closed broadcasts. For the next step of this product customers have a chance to access internet with a touch screen.
