The Millennium Goal Challenge
In September 2000 the United Nations General Assembly
unanimously adopted the Millennium Declaration.
The declaration devised a plan to achieve a set of
Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) whose primary objective
is to cut poverty in half across the globe by the year 2015.
At EMRC, we have taken up this challenge.
EMRC’s work focuses on Africa and the growing of cross and intra-
continental sustainable business partnerships in both the public andprivate sector to spur Africa’s development and growth.
We thus contribute to fulfill the 8th Millennium Development Goal:
develop global partnerships for development
Vision
Established in1992, EMRC has almost two decades of experience.
During this time EMRC has promoted business partnerships with the developing world
and has organised business forums in key decision making capitals of the world

We have pioneered economic and agricultural knowledge-sharing trade missions to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, Spain, Israel, Cameroon and India.
In the last 3 years only, EMRC has gathered around 3000 professionals who
share the goal of creating business partnerships for economic growth and
development.

BOOSTING AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION IN AFRICA• Africa plays a vital role in the increase of food production to ease food shortages
• Africa can contribute significantly to solving the projected 70% increase for food demand by 2050
• We believe the private sector plays the most important role in upscaling agricultural innovation and productivity
How do we do it?
• Small-scale entrepreneurs must be integrated in the value-chain
• Focus on Capacity building – to create a more efficient agribusiness
• Provide farmers with training, technology, and support to improve their smallholder agribusiness operations
• Tap into and improve on Indigenous knowledge
• Increase commercial opportunities and access to markets
• Help smallholder farmers improve their business ideas so that they can access finance
• Drive for a large-scale increase in agricultural investment
• Governments and policy makers must
• Ensure basic education for all, so that all women and men can effectively use their training and
technology to meet basic needs
• Improve the business climate and conditions to attract investors
And how do we do all that?
Put the right strategic Private and Public partnerships in place to make things happen and drive innovation
