Explanatory notes
Product and data coverage: In the note accompanying the data for the AG/FOR/documentation, the delegation of Hungary stated that - "For practical reasons,Hungary has given the relevant data required by the Committee on Agriculturemerely for those tariff positions;, where the volume of Hungarian imports hasexceeded a minimum amount, i.e. I million US dollars. However, thisinformation is supposed to provide appropriate basis for the examination ofthe access possibilities of agricultural products on the Hungarian market".Further, "The data provided in the form required by the Secretariat shouldnot be regarded as a new notification, they being identical with the verydata which have also up to now been available to the Contracting Parties.They are meant to assist, in a break-down required by the GATT Secretariat,the work of the Committee on Agriculture."
Measures Influencing Exports and/or Imports. General:
Attention is invited to AG/DOC/1/HUN/1.
CoLumns 5 and 10: AlL imports, and also exports, are subject to licensing inHungary (C+. L/5303 and L/5106/Rev.2 together with L/5194).
Columns 6 and 13: See L/5194, paragraph 6(c) and (h).
Column 8: GSP - free or reduced is not shown in cases where the m.f.n. rateis also free or is at the same rate as the reduced GSP rate.
Column 15: Documents AG/DOC/l/HUN/1, IMC/INV/8, IMC/W/16, DPC/INV/1/Add.1,L/5194, BOP/R/131, BOP/231, L/5363 and L/5441 contain information on all themeasures shown in this notification.
