AFX Student Exchange is a family organisation based in Australia and France. For 10 years now, AFX has been organising fantastic student exchange and cultural programs in France and Australia.

AFX offers a wide range of programs and by participating in one of them you will improve your French language skills, meet new friends and experience the French way of life. We take great care in ensuring a personalised experience for your exchange our program, carefully matching you with your correspondent and host family.

Beginning with our face-to-face interview, each student is assisted through each step of the process, from the interview, to the arrival in France, until your return home, ensuring a safe and beneficial experience.

We are specialists in our field, we focus only on programs between Australia ad France. Every member of our team has and unmatched level of understanding and experience in Australia and France. This attention to detail means our programs are of the highest quality.

Since our small beginnings organising student exchanges only for family and friends, AFX has grown, carefully adding new programs for both high-school and post-high school students. AFX also works with a

number of Australian schools, planning and organising school groups on cultural tours and exchanges in France.

Length: 5 or 10 weeks

Travel Dates: Group 1 departure in late November, returning late December (5 weeks) / late January (10 weeks) OR Group 2 departure in late December, returning late January (5 weeks)

Hosting Dates: Group 1 arrival mid-June, departure mid July (5 weeks) / departure late August (10 weeks) OR Group 2 arrival mid-July, departure late August. (5 weeks)

Reciprocal Exchange

Students are carefully matched with a French correspondent and family, based on their age, personality and lifestyle. The Australian candidate is hosted in France during the Australian summer holidays and hosts their correspondent for the same amount of time during the French summer holidays. While in France, the student will go to school with their correspondent and is completely integrated into the host’s family life.

One Way Summer Programs

A longer program allowing further development of a students French language skills, cultural understanding and independence. This program is designed for the more mature, confident student who would like to spend a longer time in France. Students are carefully matched with a French host family, always with children, with the Australian student will going to school in France with their correspondent and is integrating into the host’s family life, and the life of a French student.

Students attend a private boarding school located in an historic castle in one of Frances most beautiful regions. Australian students will live the life of a French student attending the school, studying in classes, living in the boarding quarters with their school friends during weekdays and will be accommodated by a host family on weekends and during school holidays. A great structured supported program for students wanting to spend a longer time in France and make many new friends.

Semester & Year ProgramsPrivate Boarding School Hosting a French student in your own home is a

beneficial experience for you, your family, and the student. The French student comes to Australia to improve his or her English, and also experience another culture, family and lifestyle. The French students are usually between 14 and 17 years and have applied and undergone an interview in which their suitability for the program is determined. Students are expected to be open to the challenges of being in another country. Upon receiving your application, a member of the AFX team will also come to visit you in order to understand better your family way of life. Both your family and the French student are fully supported by AFX during the hosting period.
