Marc Kinnemann, Manager of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation U.S.A.’s Schaumburg, ILTechnical Center, will discuss the application of both indexable and solid carbide cutting tools.Considerations necessary for the proper selection of grade, edge preparation, spindle speed,depth of cut and feed rate will be recognized and discussed.

9:15 - 10:00 am TECHNICAL SESSION #2Ed Kiebler, Rottler Manufacturing“Advanced Designs and Innovative Product Technology”

Ed Kiebler from Rottler Manufacturing will give a short presentation on the benefits of CNCmachining centers vs. manual machines. The presentation will include potential uses andapplications of CNC machines, along with the ability to meet the increased tolerance demandsfor racing blocks and heads. The presentation will include CNC block machining centers, alongwith 5 axis porting machines and CNC block honing machines.

A “special search” section for bulletins, rods, blocks and casting number is just oneof many new features which will be demonstrated in this session.

Roush Yates Design and Analysis Manager Dan Keenan will introduce you to the designconcepts and technology used to develop a new engine platform. The CAE tools utilized todesign and develop the RY45 Series of products will be reviewed and the importance ofsupplier integration will be addressed. Dan will also cover the technical advantages learnedfrom designing and developing world-class NASCAR engines.
