Pattern Notes

When making amigurumi I choose to crochet in the back loop only. I like the look of the ridges left behind by

the unworked front loop and find them very useful for counting rounds and attaching pieces. If you choose to

crochet the traditional way through both loops, note that your final product will look slightly different from

mine.

Instructions Eyes (Whites)

Make 2.

With White, ch 4.

Round 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next st, sc 3 times in next st. Rotate the piece to work back down the

foundation chain. Sc in the next space (the bottom of the second sc), sc twice in the same space as the first sc.

(8 sts)

Round 2: Sc twice in next st, sc in next st, sc twice in next 3 sts, sc in next st, sc twice in next 2 sts. (14 sts)

Round 3: Sc twice in next st, sc in next 4 sts, sc twice in next 3 sts, sc in next 4 sts, sc twice in next 2 sts. (20 sts)

Round 4: Sc twice in next st, sc in next 4 sts, (sc in next st, sc twice in next st) 3 times, sc in next 5 sts, (sc twice

in next st, sc in next st) 2 times. (26 sts)

Eyes (Pupils)

Make 2.

With Black, ch 2.

Round 1: Sc 6 times in 2nd ch from hook. 6 sts

Round 2: Sc twice in each st. 12 sts

Sl st 1 and fasten off leaving long tail for attaching to white of eye.

Feet

Make 2.

With White, ch 2.

Round 1: Sc 6 times in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sts)

Round 2: Sc twice in each st. (12 sts)

Round 3: (Sc twice in next st, sc in next st) 6 times. (18 sts)

Round 4: (Sc twice in next st, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times. (24 sts)

Rounds 5-11: Sc in each st.

Stuff foot.

Hands

Make 2.

With White, ch 2.

Round 1: Sc 6 times in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sts)

Round 2: Sc twice in each st. (12 sts)

Rounds 3-5: Sc in each st.

Round 6: In this round you will attach the thumb to the hand. Sc in the next 6 sts of the hand, pick up the

thumb and sc in each st of the last round of the thumb, sc in last 6 sts of hand. (18 sts)

Round 7: Sc in each st.

Attaching the thumb to the hand causes a small hole where the two pieces meet. Use the yarn tail from the

thumb piece to sew the hole closed.

Round 8: (Sc2tog, sc in next st) 6 times. (12 sts)

Round 9: (Sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog) 2 times. (10 sts)

Rounds 10-13: Sc in each st.

Fasten off leaving tail for attaching to body.

Body

With Blue, ch 2.

Round 1: Sc 6 times in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sts)

Round 2: Sc twice in each st. (12 sts)

Attach pupils of eyes to whites of eyes.

Firmly stuff palms of hands. Slightly stuff arms. Flatten and attach to sides of body at round 17.

Lightly stuff tail and attach to back of body at rounds 6-12. Make sure the tail is pointing upwards.

Slightly flatten feet and sew to bottom of body.

Stuff body.

Round 32: (Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times. (24 sts)

Round 33: (Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times. (18 sts)

Round 34: (Sc2tog, sc in next st) 6 times. (12 sts)
