Dear Parents, Just about one week away from the Academy Adventures Fall Auction! Plans have been in the works all school year for this event and we hope you are looking forward for some fun! Mark your calendars and remember to drop by the Uniform Resale while you are there. More information about both of these can be found on page two and three of this newsletter. Needing to add volunteer hours? Be sure to ask your teachers if there is any work that you can take home. Daily lunches welcome your presence, as well as specials - those teachers volunteers too. With the holidays and breaks quickly approching, we do have many other dates to save as well; Turkey Bowl, Thanksgiving break, Can Food Drive and more! After the New Year, we will get back to business - in an exciting way - with a Read-a-thon. We are excited to be part of your school year! NEED-TO-KNOW

VOLUNTEERCheck out our Facebook Page for the lastest opportunities and how you can sign-up to volunteer. Remember to pick up a blue form in the office to count your volunteer hours.

For additional school information check online! academy.burlesonisd.net

This Volunteer hosted event is a great way to make some extra cash and find some great uniforms at affordable prices!

If you would like to sell your clothing, please see all details below. Please keep in mind this is a fundraiser for YOU! Please follow all of the policies. Clothing will be turned away that is not ready to sell as described.

DETAILS FOR SHOPPERS: WHERE: Sale is in the Academy Cafeteria WHEN: Saturday, November 5 Doors open at 9amBring only small bills to shop. Volunteers will not be able to make change! The more $1’s you have, the better. Arrive early for the best selections.

DETAILS FOR SELLERS:• Clothes should hang on adult size wire hangers only with hook facing left (like question mark).

Pin pants by waist to the TOP/ANGLED part of hanger or they slide to the side. Clothing must be CLEAN! Ironing things or using Downy wrinkle release spray works great to give them a fresh look and help them sell better!

• When looking at the item, attach envelope in the upper right corner with safety pins. Make sure envelope has the prices you are asking, size of Item, and first and last name of seller clearly printed on it. Also include teacher and grade level.

• All clothes must be prepped and ready for sale at time of drop off. If clothes are not ready at drop off they will be returned to you and not placed in the sale.

• Only Items listed on dress code will be accepted. (one exception is the Izod Pleated Tab Scooter Skirt JC Penny’s in khaki or navy)

• Clothes must be sorted by gender. Grouping with rubber band is a great way to do this. Any unisex clothing can be bundled together.

• Drop off will be Thursday & Friday November 3 & 4th from 7:35-8:30am and 2-4:30pm. Please allow enough time to sign in to the school, come to the piano room, and have your clothes inspected before you leave.

• Clothes will be sold the morning of the Academy Auction/Saturday, November 5, from 9am-12pm• Please pick up your envelopes and unclaimed clothing at the end of the Auction on Saturday,

November 5. (approximately 1pm) Any unclaimed funds will be moved to the front office on Monday, November 7.

• Any unclaimed clothing not picked up by the end of the auction on Saturday, November 5 will be donated to local BISD students who are in need of uniforms. IF YOU WANT your unclaimed clothes/you must pick them up on SATURDAY 11/5 by 1pm

Have fun making some extra money for the holidays while providing great uniforms to others!
