Know your game. Make sure you have the right equipment and practice it if youve never played it before.

Know your environment. Is there enough room? Are there safety concerns? Manage risk well.

Make instructions clear, but be concise and fast moving - instructions shouldnt take longer than the game!

Join in and get other leaders involved too. Games are a great opportunity for building relationships.

Finish games when they are at their peak - read the signals and stop BEFORE children get bored or become a bit silly.

Be enthusiastic, inclusive and encouraging throughout.

Dont be too competitive or embarrass anyone.

programme. The children with the correct letters have to run up the

front and spell the word using the letters.

Set up a goal at each end of the room. Scatter one vinyl square for

each player in between the goals. Divide the children into two teams. Play soccer but each player must

keep one foot on the vinyl square at all times.

Thus says the Lord: Call to me and I will answer you. Jeremiah wrote of a God who hears and answers. Hes still the same today. We call on him for specific ministry needs and praise Him for young New Zealanders coming to know this personal God. We rejoice in our new West Auckland monthly prayer group, bringing to four the number of regional groups.

The next 3 months is looking crazy busy as the year comes to a close, where did it go? All the local High school students are really busy having mostly completed their mock exams.

I have been busy organizing our Transition event in mid-October, organizing dates and times for local Its Your Move presentations to Year 8 students during the end of Term 4.We then have lots of end of year events to organise for the local youth pastors school group student leaders and youth workers who support them.

July saw our first senior winter camp in the South for a long time. There was a great team of leaders and campers. A highlight for me was seeing young people engaging in issues in their life and seeking the Lord to help change their situations.

We have also recently held a senior leaders weekend at the South Island. This saw all our southern directors for the upcoming summer camps gather together to refresh, up skill and pray for each other as we head into summer. This was a really encouraging time and we were privileged to have Andrew Shepherd from AROCHA sharing with us as well as our own Nigel Winder joining us for the weekend. We are also counting down to our E3 expedition in December for Year 12 and 13 students.

Weve had fun, interactive and encouraging Childrens Ministry Network Meetings in Invercargill, Dunedin and Cromwell. The Southland SUPAkidz Camp was bursting at the seams with 46 campers and an incredible team of leaders.

Dont miss the Otago Supporters Breakfast, 9 November, to raise sponsorship for the summer camps. Thanks again to all those who encouraged us by joining us for Pray Day for our local schools.
