BDPA, Washington, D.C. Chapter Perry Carter Chapter President

Dear Members and Industry Partners:

I join with you today to congratulate you and our dedicated members of BDPA’s Washington, D.C. Chapter on your 30th Anniversary. As we celebrate this Anniversary and successful youth development programs, I also join in celebrating the achievements of your chapter’s student members and their participation in BDPA’s High School Computer Competition, Youth Technology Conference, and IT Showcase.

During the past three decades, BDPA remains very proud of your Chapter’s support as it helped launch new BDPA chapters and IT careers in Baltimore, Northern Virginia, and Richmond. We are also proud of the friendship and camaraderie that continues to grow between BDPA and other supporting organizations in the National Capital Region.

This 30-year milestone of community service agreements between BDPA and other chapters has brought us closer to our goals. Of course, while BDPA relatively is still young, our industry and our organization, which I personally have seen grow within this region, is a dynamic environment of incredibly vibrant talent and history. Your Chapter continues to help BDPA meet its multimedia, news, and legislative objectives from our nation’s capital.

Here’s to continued success in advancing technical careers from the classroom to the boardroom. Congratulations on a job well done!

Sincerely,

Denise Holland, President National BDPA

Dear Chapter Members, Friends, and Distinguished Guests,

Welcome to our High School Computer Competition Awards banquet and our Chapter’s 30-Year Anniversary celebration! This evening, we celebrate 30 years of remarkable achievements in the information, technology, and communications industries made possible by several BDPA members. BDPA’s Washington, D.C. Chapter enthusiastically salutes our Students, HSCC Coordinators, Members, Corporate Sponsors, and Non-Profit partnerships.

We also honor our Founders, each of our former Chapter Presidents, and notable industry

milestones accomplished during their tenure during the past three decades. While we stand here today on the shoulders of our predecessors and entrepreneurs, we dedicate this evening to our nation’s future. BDPA recognizes the speed at which today’s technologies are evolving and values industry and community’s role in preparing tomorrow’s workforce for high-performance computing platforms, new power grids, and renewable sources of energy.

To that end, continued support from corporations, universities, and individual patrons for BDPA

and related community programs, continues to advance our global STEM priorities through regional High School Computer Competition (HSCC) initiatives to the forefront of underserved and minority communities. Thus far in 2008, local BDPA student members successfully captured over $125,000 in scholarships, internships, and grants from various programs and foundations. BDPA welcomes your continued support to become a more visible community advocate and infrastructure partner in 2009.

This evening, I want to thank you for taking time from your schedules to participate in our HSCC

Awards Banquet and 30th Anniversary Celebration. Take with you new relationships, dynamic career engagements, and exciting BDPA investment opportunities within our emerging program portfolio. May each of your journeys safely continue throughout the Holiday Season.

Sincerely,

Perry Carter President BDPA Washington, D.C. Chapter
