About this Series

The series “Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing” contains publications on theory, applications, and design methods of Intelligent Systems and Intelligent Computing. Virtuallyall disciplines such as engineering, natural sciences, computer and information science, ICT,economics, business, e-commerce, environment, healthcare, life science are covered. The listof topics spans all the areas of modern intelligent systems and computing.

The publications within “Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing” are primarilytextbooks and proceedings of important conferences, symposia and congresses. They coversignificant recent developments in the field, both of a foundational and applicable character. An important characteristic feature of the series is the short publication time and world-widedistribution. This permits a rapid and broad dissemination of research results.

SoCPaR 2016 - Welcome Messagefrom General Chairs

On behalf of the Conference Organization Committee, it is our pleasure to welcomeyou to the Eighth International Conference on Soft Computing and PatternRecognition (SoCPaR 2016) and Eighth International Conference onComputational Aspects of Social Networks (CASoN 2016) held at VIT University,Vellore, India, during December 19–21, 2016.

Following past Seven SoCPaR–CASoN conference series, these events areorganized to provide a forum for researchers, engineers, and students from all overthe world and to discuss the state of the art in soft computing, pattern recognition, and social networks, for exchanging knowledge that encompasses a broad range ofdisciplines among various distinct communities.

We would like to express our appreciation to all the authors who submitted theirpapers from over 15 countries. This wide spread of authors in the world is worthyof the international conference. Thanks to voluntary efforts of program committeemembers and local arrangement team. SoCPaR–CASoN 2016 received 120 +submissions. Each paper was sent to 5 independent referees, and thanks to thestrong efforts of the International Program Committee, 70 papers have beenaccepted for presentation at the conference.

SoCPaR–CASoN 2016 was co-sponsored and organized by the MachineIntelligence Research Labs (MIR Labs) and VIT University, Vellore, India.SoCPaR–CASoN 2016 was successful due to the contributions of many volunteersand organizations. We would like to thank all the authors for submitting theirpapers and conference attendees for their presentations and discussions. We aregrateful to the three plenary speakers.
