Instrumentation has spread its wings in engineering fraternity all over the world and India is not an exception to it. A field is yet to be identified which needs no measurement and/ or control. Medical Science without instrumentation is unimaginable. To review the development at various centers of excellence, academic institutions and corporate sector in engineering and medicine, technology and health care, a seminar is proposed on “Advancements in Medical Instrumentation” under auspices of department of Instrumentation and department of Medical Electronics.

Advanced medical equipment in the healthcare field and automation has freed the physician from routine work. Today the work of the physician is unimaginable without the wide use of medical technology for varied purposes. Therefore, the medical industry must become the contemporary industrial base of a health care, closely interacting with all agencies of the public health care system.

The proposed conference is expected to bring together engineering and medical philosophers, technocrats, medical / paramedical professionals, administrators and planners in health care. The topics for paper presentation are ....

Call for Papers

thAuthors are invited to submit their abstract till 30 June 2009 thand full-length papers till 15 July 2009 in the PDF format by

mailing it to the medinst_vpm@gmail.com.

Abstract should include Title, Author's name, Affiliation, Mailing address and key words. The text should be single spaced, justified in Times New Roman character [Font size 12], single column and 16cm wide. In case of multiple authors, please indicate the person to whom correspondence is to be made.

V.P.M's Polytechnic was founded in 1983 by a group of dedicated and philanthropic visionaries of Vidya Prasarak Mandal and was subsequently recognized by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute offers seven diploma courses in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Power Systems, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation, Information Technology, Computer Engineering and Medical Electronics. The first four courses were accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi for 3 years w.e.f 19-03-2004.

We also offer one year advanced diploma in Industrial Safety. The institute has contributed actively in MIPP (Maharashtra State board of technical education Institute Partnership Project) / LRDC (Learning Resource Development Center), Curriculum Revision Project 2005 2006 and many such activities.

As a part of dissemination of knowledge, the institute has organized national level seminars & conferences on the following topics :

thA precursory workshop is organized on 18 July 2009 with an intention to create awareness about the theme of the conference, wherein a 'Paper presentation Competition' is organized for the M.E / Research students from Biomedical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering branch.

After expert review the selected paper will be considered for publishing in the Souvenier. Most deserving paper /s will be given privilege to be presented in the forthcoming Conference.

The payment should be made in the form of Cash/DD/Pay order of a nationalized bank drawn in favour of “Principal, VPM’s Polytechnic, Seminar A/c”, payable at Thane.

lGroup (4 members minimum) participation from the same organization shall be given a concession of 25% on the delegate/student registration fees.
