The 2018 Selecon is Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals - in which Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adopon organizaon, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country - Wingate’s riveng, wrenching, and ulmately upliſting tale reminds us how, even though the paths we take can lead to many places, the heart never forgets where we belong. All SPL book clubs will meet together at the Library Saturday, May 19 at 2 PM for a conversaon about the book. All members of the public are welcome to join! If All Arkansas Read the Same Book Saturday, May 19, 2 PM

If All Arkansas Read the Same Book is an annual, statewide reading program designed to encourage the enjoyment of reading and to promote book discussion in libraries across Arkansas. The 2018 Selection is Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals - in which Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country -Wingate’s riveting, wrenching, and ultimately uplifting tale reminds us how, even though the paths we take can lead to many places, the heart never forgets where we belong. All SPL book clubs will meet together at the Library Saturday, May 19 at 2 PM for a conversation about the book. All members of the public are welcome to join! Springdale Public Library will be launching its Reading Takes You Everywhere summer reading program on June 4th, 2018. During the months of June and July, the Library will host a range of free activities for children, teens, and adults to encourage and support a love of reading. SPL is partnering with Springdale High School and U of A to bring you a fun and educational event the whole family can enjoy. Solar equipment and telescope will be available for hands on fun.

Monday, March 19 Craft Make & Take: 1 PM - 4 PM Children’s craft area Drop by the Children’s Craft Area and create a craft to take home. Open to all ages of children.

Tuesday & Wednesday, March 20 & 21 Lego Challenge Fun: 1 PM - 4 PM Children’s Department Come to the Children’s Area and take the daily Lego Challenge or create your own Lego fun. Sewing Club workshop: Session 1: 1 PM - 2:30 PM Session 2: 3 PM - 4:30 PM For ages 10-14. Each participant will make a pillow-case and another project if time permits. Each session is limited to 14 participants (parents are encouraged to stay and help). Register at the Children’s Desk for one of the sessions.

Adults are not required to attend school-age programs; however, an adult must accompany children who are

10 years old and under at all times while in the Library.
