cAbout the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) ProgramThe Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) program is for graphic designers, web designers,systems integrators, value-added resellers, developers, and business professionalsseeking official recognition of their expertise on Adobe products.

What Is an ACE?An Adobe Certified Expert is an individual who has passed an Adobe Product Profi-ciency Exam for a specific Adobe software product. Adobe Certified Experts are eli-gible to promote themselves to clients or employers as highly skilled, expert-levelusers of Adobe software. ACE certification is a recognized worldwide standard forexcellence in Adobe software knowledge. Certification exams are available by soft-ware product and solution type. To become an ACE, you must pass one or moreproduct-specific proficiency exams and sign the ACE program agreement. When youbecome an ACE, you enjoy these special benefits:

Getting an Adobe Certified Expert Exam InformationAdobe provides certification exams for specific Adobe software products as well assuites. You can find information about an exam at Adobe.com or Pearson VUE, anauthorized testing center. Follow these steps to find out more about an Adobe Certi-fied Expert exam:

A list of certification exams appear, which you filter to pair down.

Scroll through the list to find the exam you want or use filters to pair down thelist.

You can find exams by Product/Exam Type, Role, and Type (Certification orRecertification).

Preparing for an Adobe Certified Expert ExamEvery Adobe Certified Expert Exam is developed from a list of objectives, which arebased on studies of how an Adobe program is actually used in the workplace. Thelist of objectives determine the scope of each exam, so they provide you with theinformation you need to prepare for ACE certification. Follow these steps to com-plete the ACE Exam requirement:

Review and perform each task identified with a Adobe Certified Expert objectiveto confirm that you can meet the requirements for the exam.

Identify the topic areas and objectives you need to study, and then prepare forthe exam.

Register for the Adobe Certified Expert Exam.

ACE testing is offered at over 5000 authorized Pearson VUE testing centers inmany countries. To find the testing center nearest you, go online to www.pear-sonvue.com/ adobe (for Pearson VUE). The ACE exam fee varies by testing pro-gram, exam type, and sometimes region. When contacting an authorizedtraining center, provide them with the Adobe Product exam name you want totake, which is available online at http://www.pearsonvue.com/adobe/ or http://training.adobe.com/certification/exams.html.

Take the ACE exam.

Getting RecertifiedFor those with an ACE certification for a specific Adobe product, recertification isrequired of each ACE after it expires, which is one year after the date you certify.There are no restrictions on the number of times you may take the exam within agiven period.

To get recertified, call Pearson VUE. You will need to verify your previous certifica-tion for that product. If you are getting recertified, check with the authorized testingcenter for discounts.

Taking an Adobe Certified Expert ExamThe Adobe Certified Expert exams are computer-delivered, closed-book tests con-sisting of multiple-choice and sometimes short answer questions. Each exam isapproximately one to two hours long. You can view a demo to familiarize yourselfwith the look, feel and navigation of the online exam. The exams are currently avail-able worldwide in English only. They are administered by Pearson VUE, an inde-pendent third-party testing company.

Exam ResultsAt the end of the exam, a score report appears indicating whether you passed or failedthe exam. If your exam includes short answer questions, a score report is sent to youby mail within five business days. When you pass the exam and sign the ACE agree-ment, you will receive an e-certification and use of the ACE logo. For some prod-ucts, you will be sent an ACE Welcome Kit in four to six weeks. You can also beplaced on the Adobe certification mailing list to receive special Adobe announce-ments and information about promotions and events that take place throughout theyear, and added to the Adobe Certified Expert finder, where people locate you foryour expertise.

When you pass the exam, you can view your certification status, history, andresults, get program information, check and update your profile, or download ACEprogram logos for your promotional materials online at the Adobe Certified Portal,which you can search for on Adobe.com.
