Basic Admissions Requirements:

To be admitted to Crandall, you must have graduated from high school at the university preparatory/academic level. Bachelor of Arts:

- Grade 12 English - Four additional grade 12 academic classes.

Bachelor of Science: - Grade 12 English - Grade 12 Chemistry - Grade 12 Biology - Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics - One additional grade 12 academic course

Bachelor of Business Administration: - Grade 12 English - Grade 11 or 12 Mathematics - Three additional Grade 12 academic courses

Early Admissions Average:

80% Early Fall admission is offered to grade 12 applicants with a strong academic background, based upon their final grade 11 marks, and are registered in grade 12 courses that satisfy the program requirements. The early application deadline is November 30.

1. Admission Requirements:

On February 13, 2009, Crandall University’s Academic Council approved changes to the admission requirements. These changes are listed above.

2. Early Fall Admission:

Beginning in September 2008, Crandall will offer students the option of applying for early fall admission to the Bachelor of Arts, Science and Business programs. Grade 12 students who have achieved an overall average of 80% or above in grade 11 and are registered in grade 12 courses that satisfy the program requirements will be eligible for early fall admissions. A student who is applying for early fall admission should include their final grade 11 transcript and a school approved list of courses they are taking in grade 12 with their application.

3. Global Experience Education Program (GEEP) (Travel to Australia) This program is designed for the Bachelor of Education Students who are entering the final year of their degree and are in a position to undertake the required 15-week internship component. This opportunity has developed as a partnership between Crandall and schools in the city of Melbourne, Australia.

4. Crandall-Oxford Study Programme: The Crandall-Oxford Study Programme offers students the opportunity to study full- credit Canadian courses with the advantage of being on site in England and having access to the world-class libraries at Oxford. Students study for the semester as associate students of Regent’s Park College, Oxford University, with their study recorded in a permanent annotation on university transcripts.

5. Bachelor of Education Requirements: Deadline for Applicants is February 15th of the year in which the student wants to commence studies. Students must complete either a minimum of 30 credit hours of a B.A., B.B.A. or B.Sc. program (or equivalent) to begin the concurrent B.Ed. degree program or a B.A., B.B.A. or B.Sc. degree (or equivalent) to begin the two-year consecutive B.Ed. degree program. A student’s post-secondary record, whether applying for the concurrent or the consecutive B.Ed., must show evidence of above-average ability. For this application, the normal requirement is a cumulative GPA of 2.67 or a B- equivalent on a scale where 4.33 is the highest mark available. In addition to a strong academic record, evidence of professional suitability, supported by references, is required. A student must complete a letter explaining their reason for applying to the B.Ed. program. Spaces are limited in this program.

6. Professional Studies:

Advanced Certificate in Literacy Education: The Advanced Certificate in Literacy Education is a 30 credit hour, 6000 level, program designed to help teachers enhance their knowledge and pedagogical skills and promote literacy in the classroom. Courses are the equivalent of six credit hours and are taught in an intensive, excelerated format. This program also provides teachers who hold a certificate 5 with the New Brunswick Department of Education the opportunity to advance to a certificate 6 based on the criteria set by the office of Teacher Certification with the Department of Education. Individuals holding a certificate 4 will be able to use the completion of these courses to help advance to a certificate 5.

Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management: The Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management is designed and delivered in a non-traditional format. It is for the mature adult who is employed, has at least the equivalent of one year of post secondary education, and wants to complete his or her undergraduate degree. 7. Articulation Agreements:

Crandall is pleased to partner with a number of provincial colleges both through formal articulation agreements and informal agreements. Most noticeably would be the New Brunswick Community College and Oulton College, where students may complete certain programs and receive up to two years worth of credit applied towards their university degree. Crandall also has transfer understandings with numerous private and public colleges within the region that assist students in completing both a diploma and a degree within an abbreviated timeframe.

8. Advanced Academic Standing: Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate program

Crandall University does grant university credit to students who have demonstrated exceptional ability within either the Advanced Placement program Or the International Baccalaureate program. Any student involved in either of these programs, who has received a score of four or five on the Advanced Placement Examinations or a score of five, six, or seven on the International Baccalaureate Examinations, may request an assessment for university credit up to a maximum of 30 credit hours. 9. Crandall Blue Tide Athletics: Crandall Blue Tide Athletics is a proud member of the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association, Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association, and the Canadian Intercollegiate Baseball Association. Crandall participates in the following varsity sports: Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s Baseball, Women’s Soccer and Cross Country.
