1. Admissions Requirements

A. Degree(Applicants must meet one of the conditions below)

(1) Master / Combined Master & Doctorate course applicants

Those who have earned a Bachelor's degree. ①

Those who are expected to earn a Bachelor's degree until August 2014. ②

(2) Doctoral course applicants

Those who have earned a Master's degree. ①

Those who are expected to earn a Master's degree until August 2014. ②

B. Nationality(Applicants must meet one of the conditions below)

(1) Those who both applicants and their parents have foreign citizenship.

(2) Applicants with foreign citizenship and have completed entire education courses

(elementary, junior high, high school, and university) outside of South Korea.

(3) Applicants who are citizens of Korea and have completed entire education courses

(elementary, junior high, high school, and university) outside of South Korea.

(4) Applicants who are the new settlers from North Korea.

C. Academic Requirements

(1) Applicants with high academic achievement from their previous universities.

(2) Applicants who have earned TOPIK level 3 or above.

(3) Applicants who have earned TOEFL 550, CBT 210, iBT 80, IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550 or above.

(4) Applicants who meet one of the conditions below.

Applicants who are English native speakers. ①

Applicants who have completed their secondary or higher education in English ②

speaking countries(USA, Canada, UK, Australia, South Africa etc).

Applicants whose major is Korean Language in foreign universities. ③

Applicants who have obtained a degree in Korean education courses. ④

(5) Applicants who are approved by the departments which they have applied for their

language ability.

※ Applicants must meet one condition from above. Principle is to meet one condition from 1, 2, or 3,

if not, students are also eligible if they meet conditions 4 or 5

A. There is no designated form for the study plan.

B. If you apply for Medicine(Health sciences and Technology), please write down the

information of the professor who has recommended you(Name/University/Contact

number/E-mail address).

C. If you apply for Energy science or Nano science and technology, please fill in the form

only in English.

(3) Self-Introduction - must be written in Korean or English only

A. There is no designated form for the Self-Introduction.

B. If you apply for Energy science or Nano science and technology, please fill in the form

only in English.

(4) Letter of consent for degree verification - must be written in English only

A. Please submit after filling and signing in all underlined blanks.

A. Applicants for doctorate course need to submit both undergraduate and graduate school

B. If you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course(have not graduated

yet), you must submit an official document that indicates your expected date of graduation

and must submit a required graduation certificate until August 26, 2014(TUE).

(11) Only for those applicants who have graduated from universities in China

A. Verification Report of China Higher Education Qualification Certificate

B. Credentials Report

Notes ※

All successful applicants should get a 'Certificate of Admission', regardless of having ①

a visa. A Certificate of Admission will only be issued after submitting all necessary

documents.

For Chinese applicants who do not have ② Korean visa(D-2), the representative of the

applicant needs to submit application documents for the Certificate of Admission and

visa issuance approval number application. (Sending documents by post is not

allowed.)

You must submit the documents within the deadline. Please refer to 'Application ※

Guidelines' for more details.

The office will be flooded with applications for a visa issuance approval number ※

during July and August, and it usually takes at least 6 weeks after the application

to be completed. Please note that if you submit your visa application document

late, it may be difficult to successfully complete immigration procedures before

September admission.

If you have ever received the D-2/D-4 visa, the documents should correspond to ※

the ones you submitted to obtain the visa before. If there's any difference, your

visa application could be denied.

For students who are applying for Korean visa to the Korean diplomatic office, make ③

sure to receive the visa before entering the university. The duration of visa procedures

vary between countries, so make sure to check the schedule beforehand.

For students staying overseas, a representative should visit the International office ④

and submit all the required documents before being issued the Certificate of

Admission. Sending documents by post is not allowed.

5. Admissions Standards

A. SKKU recruits students as their total grades by the selection committee of each

major.

B. The evaluation results of each major(documents screening, interview) and

language ability are the most important standards. Some majors require

interviews(P. 13 ~ P. 15). All candidates must abide by the evaluation process

of each major.

C. Applicants who have not properly prepared the required documents will not be

selected.

D. SKKU does not recruit applicants with lack of learning ability.

6. Admission Quota

A. Quotas for the special admission of international students have no limitation.

B. Admission quota can be variable according to the level of applicants.

2. Scholarships for International students

11. Application Guidelines

1. Application period

A. In case of inadequate documents, applicant will be excluded from final evaluation. And If the

information mentioned in the documents and submitted documents are proved to be false, acceptance

will automatically be canceled(during the period of attendance as well / no refund on tuition).

B. In case of cancellation after registration, you need to visit Admissions office with your ID card

to apply for the refund of tuition by Thurday, August 14, 2014. 16:00(Full refund on tuition).

If you withdraw your admission after the semester has started, tuition will be refunded

according to the refund policy of our university. Admission fee is non-refundable ※

C. For students who have graduated from foreign universities: The university you’ve graduated

from must be a officially approved higher education institute by national governments. In case

of any problems or reasons for disqualification, admission will be cancelled.

D. For students who have graduated from foreign universities, you need to check whether your

university is listed on the "List of Universities of the World" provided by IAU(International

Association of Universities) under UNESCO. If your attended university is not on the list or

English name of the university is named differently, you need to submit certificate issued by

the Embassy to prove that the university is accredited by the government.

E. You need to submit the original copy of official language proficiency test score. Submitting the

copy is possible after confirming to Admissions office.

2. After Admissions Decision

A. For students who have graduated from foreign universities, you need to actively cooperate

when asked to make inquiries for your graduate universities even after your entrance. In case of

noncooperation, you will be regarded as disqualified and therefore your admittance will be canceled.

B. If you are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course(have not graduated yet),

you should submit an official document that indicates your expected date of graduation

and must submit required graduation certificate until Mon, August 26, 2014. If you do not

submit the graduation certificate by deadline, your admittance will be canceled in some

cases. Write down Name/Identification number/Program/Major on the top-right corner of ※

the transcript.

C. All successful applicants should get a 'Certificate of admission', regardless of having visa.

Certificate of admission will only be issued after submitting all necessary documents.
