conflict, but it also involves having the ability to either avoid or resolve your own conflict

situations. Thus, we now think that Conflict Management should be a part of the Competencies

list that a leader should have.

Political Skills:An effective leader is a good political player, who knows how the game is

played, but can also manage political behavior so that it does not lead to group or organizational

dysfunction. ence, we suggest including !olitical "kills in the final Competencies list.

Developing Others: As a leader continuously work to develop and build

his/her own technical and professional expertise, the best leader sets aside

the time and money in developing their work force. They look for the most

promising employees, and provide them with the training they need to

become their company's next generation of great leaders. Thus, eveloping

!thers should have been a part of the "nal competencies list.

Professionalism:An individual can never become a successful leader until and

unless he/she sets an example for their followers to be professional. #eing

professional helps an individual in identifying that what to do and what not.

Thus, we also suggest to include in the "nal competencies list.
