CLARIFICATIONSAddendum Item No.1 -SUBMITTED QUESTION:Item M-007: Specs call for a woven geotextile under the Class C stone fill, but the plan sheet C2.3 calls for theClass C stone fill to sit on a non-woven geotextile. which is correct?CLARIFICATION:Woven geotextile per specification is correct.

Addendum Item No.2 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: Will the manufacturer of the frames & grates for the catch basins be required toprovide four threaded holes (typ) in the grate for the perforated aluminum sheet as well as the standard holesused to bolt the grate to the frame?

CLARIFICATION: Intent is to use the 4 standard holes used to bolt the frame to the grate to also secure thealuminum sheet. Bolt length may need to be adjusted.

Addendum Item No.3 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: Note on drawing C4.6 states AWWA C504 BFV. Can a high performance CS or SSwith replaceable seat be used?

CLARIFICATION: SS High performance valve would be an acceptable alternate.

Addendum Item No.4 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: Will stem extension be epoxy coated CS or SS?

CLARIFICATION: Stainless Steel (SS)

Addendum Item No.5 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: Please confirm class of Ductile Iron Pipe.

CLARIFICATION: Class 52 minimum.

Addendum Item No.6 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: The backfill material called for in the MSE wall specification differs from the materialMSE wall suppliers will require. Refer to NHDOT MSE wall backfill specification.

CLARIFICATION: Material requirements listed in the specification are considered minimum. Per SpecificationSection M-006-1.1B, the wall system shall be designed in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements. If themanufacturer’s backfill requirements are more restrictive than the specification, they shall govern.

Addendum Item No.7 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: Will the lighted runway closure markers be provided by the Owner or Contractor

CLARIFICATION: The Owner will provide the lighted runway closure makers for use by the Contractor.Contractor will be responsible for transporting, placing, fueling and returning the closure markers.

Addendum Item No.8 -SUBMITTED QUESTION: Bid schedule item D-751-3 shows 13 each of 48" Ø catch basins and bid schedule itemD-751-4 shows 6 each of 72" Ø catch basins. The plan set profiles show 11 each of 48" Ø catch basins and 8 eachof 72" Ø catch basins. Which is correct?

CLARIFICATION: Bid Proposal is Correct.

Addendum Item No.9 -Remove pages 13-17 of the Bid Proposal Replace with the Attached pages 13 – 17 of the Bid Proposal.

Addendum Item No.10 -Remove the words “or ferroresonant” from the third sentence of paragraph 109-3.9 of Specification Section L-109(Work in Lighting Vault)

Addendum Item No.11 -Add the following paragraphs to Specification Section L-858 (Runway and Taxiway Guidance Signs)

858-3.5 Sign Relocation.Contractor shall carefully remove and relocate the existing guidance sign and precast concrete foundation asshown on the Contract Drawings and as directed by the Engineer. The work item shall include the excavationand restoration of the area. The existing 5kv circuit shall be de-energized prior to performing the work. Thecable shall be removed and replaced. The Contractor shall coordinate runway closures with AirportOperations prior to scheduling the work.

858-4.4 Sign Relocation. The quantity of “Relocate Lighted Sign and Foundation” to be measured underthis item shall be the number of signs relocated, as shown on the Drawings, and accepted by the Engineer.Items shall include but are not limited to, the relocation of the sign, frangible couplings, gasket, anchor bolts,sign tether, concrete foundation, conduit within foundation, concrete encased isolation transformer housing,steel plate cover, isolation transformer, connector kits, L-823 extension cord. Work item includes excavation,backfill, removal of cable. New equipment includes crushed stone, ground rod, grounding, bolts, L-823connectors, heat shrink and restoration of the area.

Conduit and cable installed outside of the concrete foundation shall not be included for payment as part ofthis item but shall be paid for separately under other sections of these specifications.

858-5.4 Payment shall be made at the Contract unit price per “Relocate Lighted Sign and Foundation”installed and accepted by the Engineer. This price shall be full compensation for furnishing all materials andfor all preparation, assembly, and installation of these materials, restoration of the site around each locationas shown on the Plans and for all labor, equipment, tools and incidentals necessary to complete this item.

Add the following pay items to paragraph 858-5.4 of Specification Section L-858 (Runway and Taxiway GuidanceSigns)

Addendum Item No.12 -Add the following sentence to paragraph 905-4.2 of Specification Section L-905 (Electrical Utility Services)

Lump sum cost shall be based on a maximum four-day duration. If the duration of the service outage exceeds fourdays, the Contractor shall be reimbursed for the direct costs associated with the extended duration. This shallinclude additional rental charges, fuel costs, and a maximum mark-up of 10% on these direct costs.
