ACTIVITIES 2018-19 ORIENTATION OF CENTRE FOR EXCELLENCE: Centre for Excellence has conducted a meeting on 10 July, 2018 at 3.30 pm in Room No. 20 IT
Block. The members of Staff and Student volunteers attended the meeting. An introductory
orientation was addressed by Dr.D.Sanjeeva Rao, Coordinator, Centre for Excellence. It was
decided by the members and volunteers to conduct an Art Mela Competition on 23 August
2018, with the theme of GURAVE NAMAHA on the eve of GURUPURNIMA in the month of
July. 29/7/2018.

Centre for Excellence conducted its 1st event for the academic year 2018-19. On the auspicious
occasion of Guru Poornima. The BCE team had conducted ‘Art Mela’ with the theme
‘GuruveNamaha’. Here the students exhibited their love and gratefulness to their teachers in the
art form. The purpose of conducting the event is to give the art lovers a platform to showcase
their talent.
There were 30 students who participated in the event. The event commenced at 3:30 and
concluded by 4:30. The art exhibited by the students were appreciated by Principal Dr. Y. Ashok
and the lecturers who visited the venue. The judges for the event were Mrs. Neelavathi and Mrs.
Divyarekha. On the day of Gurupurnima ie.27/7/18 prizes were distributed to the winners of Art
Mela by Mrs.Neraimathi, Head Department of Physics and Electronics, students recited slokas in
the Assembly.

BOOK EXHIBITION:
Centre For Excellence has organized the Book exhibition on Monday i.e.13/8/2018 at IT Block,
An announcement about the exhibition was made in the assembly session that the students
interested can visit the stall and purchase the books of their choice. The book exhibition was
arranged in association with Ramakrishna Math, It was organized during the break time and
students purchased the books in large number.
RAKHI MAKING:

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Bhavan’s Centre for Excellence organized a Rakhi
Exhibition., where the volunteers of CFE themselves made the rakhis and were made with a use of
Vegetable seeds and made the event eco-friendly. Different range (20-40) of rakhis were exhibited for
sale. On selling these Rakhis, the amount collected was Rs. 1100/- which is used for charitable purpose.
The remaining rakhis were distributed among Government school children in Nirmal Nagar which was
the highlight of the event.
The main motto of organizing this event was to create a strong bond between man and the environment as
the bond of brother and sister.

Janmashtami is a festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. On account of this occasion,
Bhavan’s Centre for Excellence created a festive spririts in the college. The prominent event of
the festival ‘MatkaPhodo’ was organized for the students and they were given 40 seconds to
break the Earthen Pot or DahiHandi. It was an individual event and also they had to contribute
Rs. 10/- to participate and the sum collected will be utilized for the Social Cause.It was a
dynamic and high spirited event and the students participated enthusiastically.
The dress code of the day was traditional attire and the students who were part of the event who
were traditionally best dressed were awarded. The Judges for the event were Mrs. Sreemathi and
Mrs. Sudha. The 1st prize was bagged by Sushmita 1B and Vishnu Vardhan 1B. They were
felicitated on 4th
September, 2018.
STATUE UNVEILING CEREMONY OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA:
The programme started at 8:30 am with the traditional pooja performed by Air Cmdre JLN
Sastry, Vice Chairman, BVB, Prof Y Ashok, Principal BVC and joined by Shri IYR Krishna
Rao, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, BVB. Followed by Poorna Kumbha welcome to our guest, Swami
Bodhamayanandji, Director, VIHE and two other swamijis from Ramakrishna Math.
The unveiling of the Swami Vivekananda statue was done by Swami Bodhamayanandji at 9:42
am with traditional rituals and mantras recited by the purohit. After the Muhurtam, the guests
were honoured with shawl. Later on, all the dignitaries were escorted to Vivek Bharati
auditorium for formal and cultural events. All the dignitaries were welcomed with a flower
bouquet.
The programme started with welcome address by Prof Y Ashok, Principal BVC followed by Air
cmdre JLN Sastry, Vice Chairman, BVB, Shri IYR Krishna Rao, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, BVB,
Swami Bodhamayanandji, Director, VIHE and two other swamijis from Ramakrishna Math.
The students of BVC performed a ballot briefing history of Swami Vivekananda. The
programme went on smoothly. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Niraimathi, Vice
Principal, BVC.
YOUTH FESTIVAL:

Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence, Ramakrishna Math conducted its Youth Festival as a mark
to celebrate 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address. The theme of the event is
Sampriti Divas. The speakers who graced the occasion were Sri. E.S.L. Narasimhan, Honorable Justice
T.B.N. Radhakrishnan, Sri Kadiam Srihari, Sri. Navin Mittal, Dr. Yogita Rana, Sri Satyanaryana Raju,
Sri. S.V Pattabhiram, Prof. V. Vishwanadham, Sri Vijay Menon, Sri Sharad Sagar. The event was held
with full of joy, strength, music and it was packed with Informative Seminars and Cultural Programs.
ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION:
An Essay Writing competition was held at our college premises on 11th
September, 2018 from
03:30 p.m to 04:30 p.m on the eve of 125th
year of the famous Chicago Address by Swami
Vivekananda. The Bhavan’s Centre of Excellence has conducted this event under the
guidance of Dr.D.Sanjeev Rao. The event took place in the New Block of the college.
Students were given the topic to write in 3 different languages i.e. English, Hindi and Telugu. 13
students had participated in this event out of which few students have written the essay in 2
languages.
Overall, the event was a success and at the same time, very helpful for the students as they
have come across many fascinating facts about Swami Vivekananda.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARENESS PROGRAMME

From past few years, Centre For Excellence is conducting several Seva
Programmes. We noticed many of the students of Government schools in addition to facing
financial problems, are unaware and unable to get the benefits of different Scholarship Schemes.
So, this year Centre For Excellence conducted a Seva Programme on
Scholarship Awareness for school students of Gayathri Vidyalaya, Neredmet (For 10th
standard),
and ZPHS, Nagaram (For 8th
,9th
,10th
standards) on 20th
September and 22nd
September
respectively.
The students get scholarships from Colgate, Google Doodle, SOF, NSE, etc.
Around 25 volunteers of CFE took part in this event. As a part of this program we covered 300
students aiming at creating the awareness and helping out the poor and merit students even in the
applying the scholarship. We got good response from students and the school managements
appreciated and gave feedback letters addressing Principal of
BVC.
