Transportation in Lausanne Lausanne is brimming with varied and accessible means of transport to suit every
budget: bus, metro, regional train, etc. When arriving at Lausanne train station (Lausanne Gare), you can use the public transport system - bus or metro just in front of the train station. If needed, taxies are parked in front of the main entrance
of the station. Uber is also operational in Switzerland.
All hotels in Lausanne provide a card for their guest to use the public transportation within the city, free of charge. The same card gives discounts on various cases.
When necessary, ticket machines are in every stop. 1 hour ticket (4.60 CHF) and 1 day ticket (9.30 CHF) allow you to transfer as many times as needed. The SBB
mobile app is also very easy to use, if you have internet connection.

About Lausanne
https://www.myswitzerland.com/en-ch/lausanne.html
Lausanne, the second-largest city on Lake Geneva, combines a dynamic commercial town with the locality of a holiday resort. The capital of the canton of Vaud is also a
lively university and convention town. Sports and culture are given a high profile in the Olympic capital.
Shops in Lausanne are generally open Monday to Friday from between 8:30 or 9:30 and 18:30 or 19:00. Many smaller shops also close over lunch from around 12:00
– 13:30. Large department stores such as Globus are open until 19:00 Monday to Friday.
The best places to shop in Lausanne
There are several fashionable clothing stores in the area above the main train station in Lausanne. Some of the most interesting shopping is around the area of Place St
François. From there you can also meander along Rue de Bourg. Place de la Riponne and the Lausanne Flon area are also very good places to explore
for shopping. In each of these areas, exclusive clothes and shoe boutiques are found alongside international high street chains.
Crissier, to the west of Lausanne, offers extensive out-of-town shopping. In La Côte, the Aubonne Outlet Centre is worth a visit for branded bargains. Ikea is
also located in Aubonne.
Vevey, Montreux, Morges and Nyon all have appealing smaller specialty shops, ideal for browsing and gift shopping.
Shopping for essentials
For clothes, the main department stores in Lausanne are Globus and Manor. The main supermarkets are Coop and Migros. Aldi is a global discount supermarket chain.
