This positive enrichment program provides professional chess instruction for multiple levels of play: The Novice/Beginning Student who would like to learn the basics and beyond, including opening game theory, mating patterns and simple tactics, plus some basic history of the game. The Continuing Student who enjoys playing the game and would like to improve opening game, middle game and end game ideas, continuing tactics and combinations. The Competitive Tournament Student who plays in tournaments representing ACS and would like instruction for improved success through theory, tactics and strategy, plus game analysis. The Junior Kindergarten Program will be available Thursday morning (11:10-11:50am) between the morning program and the afternoon class. The expanded 12-week Winter-Spring Session (an EXTRA 3 classes this session) of ACS chess instruction will be held on the following Thursdays: 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, (no class 3/30), 4/6, 4/13, (no class 4/20), 4/27 and 5/4/2017.
