The American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) is dedicated to serving the
needs of people with disabling conditions by providing research that:
* promotes health, independence, productivity, and quality of life,
* meets the needs of disabled people,
* educates providers to deliver best practices, and
* ensures future research projects are publicly funded.
Mission
ACRM enhances the lives of people living with disabilities through a multidisciplinary
approach to rehabilitation. As leaders in the physical medicine and rehabilitation field,
we promote innovative research, new technologies, and sharing information, and
encourage evidence-based practices in clinical settings.
Leadership roLe
ACRM creates forums to innovate all rehabilitation professionals, including clinicians,
service managers, administrators, educators, and researchers. We call upon the leaders
in rehabilitation to identify current best practices and best providers at all levels of
care and share this information via education meetings and through publishing the
Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (Archives). The Archives is an acclaimed
international journal covering the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation as
well as interdisciplinary disciplines involved in rehabilitation.
ACRM aims to provide multidisciplinary leadership and practice innovation to ensure that
people living with chronic disease and disabilities have access to effective rehabilitation
management throughout their lives.
We serve as a forum for creating and discussing new treatment paradigms that define
the composition of the rehabilitation team, the duration of care, and the venues required
to achieve optimal functional outcomes for people with chronic disease and disabilities.
