TECHNICAL DETAILSWhile in the standard element absorption isachieved by vertical oriented reed mats, in thehigh-performing elements perpendicular orientedreed stems lead to absorption and diffusion ofsound. To provide transmission of sound throughthe barrier, a layer of clay is put in between thereed mats resp. in the back of the stems.
