Dear Colleague,

Please join me for another dynamic Annual District II Meeting (ADM) this fall in the wonderful city of New York! As the premier women’s health care organization in New York State, the ADM offers a unique opportunity for ob-gyns and other women’s health care providers to

come together and share best practices for “caring for the women of today with the tools of tomorrow.”

Attendees will explore techniques and methods to help care for their patients by attending a variety of inspiring lectures including hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, management of women’s mental health, telehealth and technology for the future, clinical pearls for the management of obesity, and many more.

New to the 2019 program, we are privileged to have both Sascha James-Conterelli, DNP, CNM, FACNM and Wendy Wilcox, MD, MPH, MBA, FACOG addressing “NYS’ Comprehensive Approach to Maternal Mortality and Disparate Racial Outcomes” as our first annual Richard N. Waldman, MD, FACOG and Elaine Mielcarski, CNM, MS, NP, FACNM Patient Safety Lecture. This lecture recognizes leadership in promoting effective collaborative team-based care to enhance patient safety in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Our Adopt a Junior Fellow Initiative will continue with Junior Fellow research contests, mentorship recognition and roundtable discussions. Additionally, this year we are pleased to offer our residents the Curriculum for Resident Education in Surgical Technique (CREST) an initiative of President-elect, Ted L. Anderson, MD, PhD, FACOG, FACS.

I am grateful to the District II Annual Meeting Scientific Program Committee and 2019 Scientific Program Co-Chairs, Mary L. Rosser, MD, PhD, FACOG and Craig Zelig, MD, FACOG, for developing a remarkable program featuring critically acclaimed faculty from across the country.

As many of you know, NYC is rated amongst the top tourist destinations in the world! You can enjoy a Broadway show, indulge in fine dining, explore a museum, or shop ‘til you drop. You can build your own experience to best meet your needs.

I look forward to seeing you this October in Manhattan!

Sincerely,

IFFATH ABBASI HOSKINS, MD, FACOGChair, ACOG District II
