    A-ClassMark II Print Engine - An Overview

    Datamax-O'Neil offers a superior print engine used in printand apply applications. The A-Class Mark II offers thehighest level of features and performance with a largegraphics display and intuitive menu navigation, maximumconnectivity features, and easy serviceability with a state-of-the-art modular design.

    The A-Class Mark II was developed for demanding multi-shift, mission critical applications that require optimalthroughput from an easy-to-operate, highly durable printengine. The easy-to-access design makes preventativemaintenance a quick process reducing operational downtime.The A-Class Mark IIs unique stainless steel cover addressesthe specialized needs of harsh, corrosive environments.

    The A-Class Mark II is available in either 4 or 6 widths andis the only print engine to offer 203, 300, 400 and 600 dpiresolution in either right-hand or left-hand models.

    USB Host / SDIOThis option comes with two USB slots to support any USB attachments such as externalkeyboards or memory flash drives. The USB and SDIO card slot also provide for addedmemory to easily transport graphics, fonts or label formats and to store large logos.

    Datamax-ONeil has the industry's first thermal printhead that combines advanced thermal control with fullperformance history to provide the most sophisticated diagnostics available today. This assures you thatwhen you invest in a Datamax-ONeil printer equipped with IntelliSEAQ, you will receive:

    Maintaining the highest standards in printheadcontrol, the life and performance of the printhead isdramatically increased. The advanced diagnosticsstored in the printhead gives an integrator the toolsto quickly assess the operation of the printhead andproactively service the customer's needs. A-Class printer information is available in both a shortform and a long form.

This is a great tool forthe integrator to obtainadditional information fromthe end customer withoutbeing on-site.     The A-Class Mark II RFID printer is one of the industrys most reliable print engine solution to support thegrowing worldwide demands of RFID compliance and evolving business requirements. As part ofDatamax-ONeils family of RFID printers , the A-Class Mark II ensures interoperability with other certifiedreaders and tags. The A-Class RFID printer offers many benefits:

    All 4 and 6 models of the A-Class are available as RFID-built printers that support UHF encodermodules and come configured with all the electronic components and read/write encoding devicesinstalled.     Standard Software Support

    FirmwarePrinter firmware controls the various operations of the printer. We continue to enhance the operationsand offer periodical updates on our website for download. Alternate versions of the firmware are availablefor integration into non-DPL environments.

    - IVR (Internal Variable Replacement): enables specialty designed variable data label formats tobe stored and modified using a USB keyboard and the print engines graphics display.

    - Oracle / SAP: Datamax-ONeil provides a means to print labels directly from XML-based businessapplication systems without using any additional middleware. This interface allows a TCP/IPconnected Datamax-ONeil printer to accept XML data from Oracle and SAP applications.

    - Emulations: Printer programming language emulation allows you to seamlessly integrate into existingsolutions without changing code.

    DMXConfig Utility *A Windows software application that allows the easy access and setup of the A-Class Mark II printer. Itcan be used with any communication port available on your printer and allows you to store settings to beapplied to a different printer; ideal when you are replacing/adding printers to your application.

    Windows Drivers *The A-Class has drivers for use on the latest Windows operating systems, allowing the user to view andchange printer settings from any Windows software application, simplifying the print process.

    Embedded Browser ConfiguratorThe LAN printers are equipped with a resident web page embedded into the firmware which allows fullaccess to the printer's settings and complete configuration. Accessing the printer via the EmbeddedBrowser Configurator is easy: simply connect the printer to the network, start the browser program, andenter the printer's IP address. The resident web page will pop up and printer is up and running withoutneeding to install software or a specific operating system.

    UL60950-1: 2003 1st EditionCSA C22.2 No. 60950-1-03 1st Edition; April 2003Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent product safety certification organization. TheUL Mark on a product means that UL has tested and evaluated representative samples of thatproduct and determined that they meet UL's requirements. Under a variety of our programs,products are periodically checked by UL at the manufacturing facility to make sure they continue tomeet UL requirements.

    IEC60950-1:2001 The UL GS mark is a German safety mark, indicating that a product has been tested and found tocomply with the safety requirements of the European Standards with German national deviations.

  • Warranty

    Printer

    Datamax-ONeil warrants to Purchaser that under normal use and service, the A-Class Printer, (with the exception ofthe thermal printhead) purchased hereunder shall be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of(365) days from the date of shipment by Datamax-ONeil.

    Expendable and/or consumable items or parts such as lamps, fuses, labels and ribbons are not covered under thiswarranty. This warranty does not cover equipment or parts that have been misused, altered, neglected, handledcarelessly, or used for purposes other than those for which they were manufactured. This warranty also does notcover loss, damages resulting from accident, or damages resulting from unauthorized service.

    Thermal Printhead

    This warranty is limited to a period of one year, (365 days), or 1,000,000 linear inches of use, whichever comes first,for the A-Class thermal printhead. This one year (365 days) warranty is valid only if a Datamax-ONeil - approvedthermal label media is used, as defined in the then current Datamax-ONeil list of approved thermal/thermal transfermedia, a copy of which is available from Datamax-ONeil. Failure to use Datamax-ONeil-approved media isjustification for invalidation of this thermal printhead warranty. This warranty does not cover printheads which havebeen misused, altered, neglected, handled carelessly, or damaged due to improper cleaning or unauthorized repairs.

    Warranty Service Procedures

    If a defect should occur during the warranty period, the defective unit shall be returned, freight and insuranceprepaid, in the original shipping containers. A Return Material Authorization (RMA) number must be issued beforethe product can be returned. To obtain an RMA number please contact the Datamax-ONeil according to the regionslisted below:

    The RMA number must be on the outside of the box and on the shipping document. Be sure to Include a contactname, a description of the problem(s). Datamax-ONeil shall not be responsible for any loss or damages incurred inshipping.

    Datamax-ONeil will repair defects covered under warranty conditions and return the repaired or replaced product tothe Purchaser at Datamax-ONeils cost. The warranty shall continue in effect until the end of the original warrantyperiod, or for sixty (60) days after the repair or replacement, which ever is later.
