You know...Death is that ONE thing that we're all guaranteed in life. But,

it's also that one thing that we are never prepared for. I know for sure, that I wasn't. I wasn't prepared to do this...

But, I must!Losing a family member so unexpectedly, makes it an even more hard pill to swallow. As I sit here I reminiscence on all the crazy stuff that you did, all the stuff that made me go like "SMH...well, that's Eugene." I'm trying to make light of

this and keep it lighthearted cause no matter what you always kept it adventurous and lighthearted for us all. I

remember the time Annlee sent you to the store to get her some cigarettes and a Pepsi; you came back with no

cigarettes and no Pepsi... She said "where's my stuff?," you said "oh, they didn't have any" and kept smacking on those now & later's... she said "well, where's my money?" and you

said "I spent it...I got me some candy." (LMBO) #Priceless These are the type of classic "Eugene moments" I remember! These are those moments that fill my heart with joy knowing

I experienced that with you. I will miss you so much and I hate that today had to be the day that I tell you how much I LOVE YOU! Know that you will always have a special place in everyone's heart for sure! We're gonna miss you and those cat eyes... Until then we'll see you later because, goodbye

sounds so final. P.S. Now I have to find someone else to LIKE all of my

Facebook statuses!! Because, if there was only ONE like that was you! :) ~ Love your cousin, Toyiah

Life Reflections

Eugene Thompson Jr.(Fugi) was born August 27th 1979, at Cook County Hospital in Chicago Illinois to Shirley and Eugene Thompson Sr.

Eugene accepted Christ and was baptism at the age of four at Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, by the late Pastor Milton Brunson. Eugene later united with Covenant Chapel Baptist Church, Pastor Charles E. Gordon where he remained a member. Those who knew him well affectionately called him "Fugi" he was a loving and caring child that grew into a Loving, Caring, Compassionate and Christian Man.

Eugene attended Washington Irving grade school in Oak Park, Illinois. He then attended Oak Park River Forest High School and graduated with honors at Proviso West High School, Hillside, Illinois.

Eugene was family oriented, he loved everyone his family meant the world to him, Eugene lived to have fun and be the center of attention. He was a great swimmer always daring to jump from the highest driving board. He also enjoyed playing basketball with his brother, brother’s friends and anyone else that was interested, he welcomed everyone. He enjoyed quality time spent with his other mother Marva. Eugene enlisted in the United States Navy and received an honorable discharge in 2001.

Eugene will forever be in the Heart of us. On August 19th, 2014 Eugene (Fugi) heard the generals voice. He stepped into eternity where he was greeted by his three grandmothers Francis Thompson, Essie Sims and Viella Outland, three grandfathers BB Thompson, Roosevelt Gordon Sr., and George Outland Sr., a Step-father (John Sims) whom he also loved and missed so very much, three uncles, Jerry Sims, James Sims and Phillip Jones. No longer looking back he now lives with Christ forever.

Eugene leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted mother Shirley (George), loving and caring father Eugene Sr. (Marva). No words I write could ever say, How sad and empty I feel today

The Angels came for you much sooner than I plannedAnd I'm trying my best to understandEugene, why did you have to go away, Why wasn't it right for you to stay

In my heart Eugene you will always be.I love you dearly and I know you'll watch over me

What I'm suffering seems so unfair but one thing is for certainMy love for you will always be there.

I'll cherish the moments when I first held you in my armsA thousand words won't bring you back,

I know because I've triedNeither will a thousand tears,

I know because I've cried Now you're up in Heaven, With the Angels up above

They will take my place for now, And they'll give you all their love

So go and rest in peace now, My little boy so dearFor all my love and memories, I will hold forever near

~Love Mom

TributesNothing compares to a brother’s love

It was with great joy. You gave me all you had You loved me real hard You got on my nerves And I got on yours. But…that’s what BIG BROTHERS DO TO

LITTLE BROTHERSI was honored every time I heard you say “Man

Man” That made me proud, made me stick my chest out, square my shoulders and walk with my head

held high. Now that your slipped awayI’ll cherish those annoying punches, those sleepless nights I had because you were always somewhere

wanting to love on me some more. Eugene I’’ forever ache for one more conversations, laugh,

game of ball. Forever In My heart, Man Man

Brother, You gave no one a last farewell, Nor ever said Good-bye. You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why. A million times we will miss you. If love alone could have kept you here with us, you never would have died. In life we

loved you dearly in death we will love you still. In our hearts you hold a place, no one else can fill. It broke our hearts to loose

you, but you didn’t go alone for part of us went with you the day God took you home. We will meet someday again we know in a

better place. Rest on our brother, for you have finished the race. We Love you, your sisters~Jackie, Tamika, LaDonna, & KiaMaya

No words could never express my sadness today. I believe the angels came for you much sooner than we all thought. I

will try my best to bare the bitter grief that has come my way. I'll try my best to understand way you had to go so soon, you will always

be in my heart, I will never forget you my dear nephew. You rest now and I'll see you later. Love Aunt Bobbie
