The last decade in particular has seen vigorous expansionthrough a combination of shrewd acquisitions and organicgrowth. Recently this has led to us being recognised in theLondon Stock Exchange’s list of ‘1000 companies toinspire Britain in 2016’.
Our product range covers virtually all types of modularand portable buildings; from small units on short term hire to large, permanent design and build projects.
We serve clients in almost every sector includingconstruction, events, healthcare, MOD, commercial andeducation. Our wealth of knowledge and experience isavailable from a nationwide network of service centres.
The business has been family run since its inception, butmaintains a formal structure. The Group Holding Companyis Wernick Group Holdings Limited, which acts as a parentto the various trading companies within the Group.
The Wernick family is deeply indebted to all past andcurrent employees and all of our loyal customers whohave, and continue to, make this success possible.

1934 1946 1952 1971 1980 1989 1995 2005 2014/5 today >>>In 1934 Samuel (Sam)Wernick places a signoutside his family homedeclaring ‘Sheds For Sale –Enquire Within’. Thebusiness is born at 127 Waterloo Road,Wolverhampton.
Despite a difficult start,Sam is pleased with theprogress of the businessand optimistic about itsfuture, making it a LimitedCompany in the Autumn of1946.
In 1952 a new factory isopened in Billericay, Essex.Four years later anotherfactory is opened atBrownhills, ten miles east ofWolverhampton.
In 1971, the Board agrees to‘set machinery in motionfor buildings on hire.’ In1974 a subsidiary isrenamed ‘Wernick Hire’.
In January 1980 Wernickpurchases Secometric,another modular buildingbusiness and the Groupheadquarters moves toWickford.
In 1989 Wernick takes overSwiftplan, a rival modularbuilding company based inSouth Wales.
In 1995 the Wernick Groupacquire Hallam Hire,beginning a chain of manyacquisitions that follow.
PK Accommodation isacquired in 2005,specialising in therefurbishment of modularbuildings. Wernick EventHire is launched at thebeginning of 2006,specialising in supplying theevent industry.
The Wernick Groupcelebrated 80 years ofbusiness in 2014. Groupinvestment tops £35 millionin 2015 with expansionthrough all divisions.
Today, the Wernick Groupoperates from 35 sitesaround the UK and employsover 650 people. It hasrevenues in excess of £100 million.
Wernick Buildings new factory isofficially opened by First Ministerof Wales, Carwyn Jones.
The Wernick Group is the largest independent hirer andmanufacturer of modular and portable buildings in Britain.

Where possible, designs utilisematerials in their supplied sizes toreduce waste before manufacture haseven begun. Wernick Buildingsmanufacturing facility in South Walesis accredited to ISO 14001: 2014.

Energy Performance Ratings of ‘B’can be achieved by various productsacross each of the Group Companies.An ‘A’ rating can be obtained with theaddition of energy saving featuressuch as photovoltaic panels or airsource heating. Modular units can bere-sited if necessary allowing them tobe reused for a variety of purposesover a long life-span.
