Our vessels are also integrated seamlessly into the business ecosystem. Rhodium’s new subsidiary - Bluefield, plays a key role in this process, ensuring that commodity trading teams have access to freight services.

Bluefield’s network of owners, brokers and chartering is exceptional, giving the highly experienced core team, the resources and information they need, when they need it. Bluefield takes strategic decisions to purchase ships when there is no asset price bubble, and the value is fair. The recent acquisition of our own Supramax bulk carriers caters to needs from larger trades, catering to both Rhodium’s shipments as well as external customers’ requirements. The availability of anchor cargo for initial ship purchases is a distinct advantage, because it provides our traders with insights into freight markets who stand to benefit in the process.

RHODIUM INVESTMENTS

Rhodium’s investment strategy is ever evolving and the latest move to invest in ships has enhanced our business capabilities like never before. In the coming years, Rhodium intends to purchase more vessels and develop associated support systems. The expertise of our technical management teams will ensure that we get the highest level of performance from each vessel.

Our partnerships with eminent German vessel owners and U.S. funds have further established our presence in the shipping market.

A FLEXIBLE FLEET TO OPTIMIZE TRADE. The Rhodium Fleet Strategy is to optimise performance under tight market conditions. The Supramax Dolphin 57000 and the SDARI 53000 are both vessels that epitomize our aims. They have robust and reliable hulls that are designed to be fuel and energy efficient, without compromising on operational flexibility. They are also capable of meeting current and future environmental regulations.

Both vessels are long Common Structural Rules (CSR) compliant handymax bulk carriers with five cargo holds. They are equipped with four energy efficient, non-polluting and maintenance-friendly cranes for cargo handling. We evaluated an operating profile consisting of full load and ballast conditions at service and slow-steaming speeds. These vessels expand Rhodium’s horizons and will serve to optimize our opportunities.
