• Impact factor: 3.09 (5‐year impact factor of 4.06); ranked 8 of 65 journals in rehabilitation, 12 of 77 in orthopedics, and 14 of 81 in sports sciences
• Reader survey (n=784): JOSPT top‐rated among 17 journals at 4.32 (where 5 is extremely useful)
• Website traffic: 136,007 monthly visits from people in a total of 219 countries – new records

FOUNDATION FORPHYSICAL THERAPY RESEARCH
• For the past two years, the Foundation has undergone an extensive process evaluating the effectiveness of how it communicates its mission.
• This resulted in a name change in conjunction with the Foundation’s 40th anniversary.
• The Foundation is now the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research!• With our support, the Foundation continues to fund a wide range of research projects and move forward with bold initiatives like the Foundation funded Center on Health Services Research known as CoHSTAR.
• CoHSTAR Researchers have since published over 60 HSR‐related studies
Center on Health Services Research CoHSTAR Commitment from AOPT
• AOPT is funding $60,000 to the CoHSTAR Implementation Science Institute for a two‐year term which includes funding the 2 day educational workshop on implementation science and travel scholarships to pay for travel expenses for AOPT members who are highly qualified to attend this conference.
FOUNDATION FORPHYSICAL THERAPY RESEARCH
• FPTR funded 36 physical therapist researchers in 2018. • Of those is Jason Beneciuk who was awarded the $40,000 Orthopaedic Research Grant for his project “Discriminant and Predictive Validity Assessment of the KeeleSTartT MSK Tool for Patients with Musculoskeletal Pain in Outpatient Physical Therapy Settings.”
• FPTR researchers compete for funding from larger research institutions like the NIH.
• $17+ million awarded • $800 million in follow‐on funding • Return on Investment: $47 in additional funding for every dollar invested

Background: This proposal provides for amendments to the bylaws of the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, APTA, Inc. for expansion of the Board of Directors to include an additional two directors and the chairs of the Education, Practice, and Research Committees.
