STEM* Language Courses for Refugees

Guest Student Program “In(2)TU Berlin”

* STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (in German: MINT)

The TU Berlin Preparatory School offers regular Ger-man courses for refugees. In general the courses start at level B2 or C1. Courses last for three or six months and offer academic German for engineering scien-ces and natural sciences. STEM language courses conclude with an assessment test for German (“Fest-stellungsprüfung Deutsch”). The assessment test is accepted as proof of language proficiency for universi-ty applications.

STEM language courses are intended for refugees interested in studying on an engineering or natural science degree program.

Please apply online. You will then be invited to an acceptance test.

Participation on language courses is free of charge.

As guest students, refugees can attend all regular courses at TU Berlin even though they don’t fulfill all the admission requirements yet. While attending these courses, guest students can take examinations and acquire credit points for subsequent degree programs.

In(2)TU Berlin allows prospective refugee students to gain an insight into studying at TU Berlin: You can get to meet other students and (re)establish contact to your subject area. You can refresh and extend your knowledge. You can find out about the university sys-tem and useful contacts to be ready to make a good start to your degree program at TU Berlin.

In(2)TU Berlin is, in principle, open to anyone who is aiming at studying at TU Berlin and who has a funda-mental knowledge of German or English.

You should register in person with the Academic Ad-vising Service. Participation is free.
