ABSTRACT

To know the trend of a religion it is better to study the doctrines of its prophet.

Judaism and Christianity are racial religions because their prophets were sent

only to the sons of Israel. But the message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace

be upon him) is above the racial and geographical boundaries. So Islam is a

universal religion. The summary of message of Islam towards humanity is to

adopt the moderation in every sphere of life. World major religions have a

claim of monotheism and hereafter life in their propagation. On these grounds

Alfred Cantwell Smith is of the view that although world religions have

different paths but their objectives are same. The subject matter of this article

is to draw attention that the causes of differences amongst religions are on

the base of the concept of prophethood. Islam is dissimilar from other

religions only due to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Today in propagation of Islam a Muslim propagator should keep in mind that

Dawah towards Allah is in fact Dawah towards Prophet Muhammad (peace

be upon him). It is need of the time to take revolutionary steps in the

propagation of Islam: Institutions should be established for new Muslims for

training and religious guidance. The Quranic principle of Taleef-e-Qalb (to

attract the hearts of those who have been inclined towards Islam) should be

revitalized in favour of new Muslims. Extremism and sectarianism in Dawah

should be avoided. A propagator should have a sound character and a

command on other than mother language.

M.Watt

"Speaking personally, it has taught me to think more

deeply about the Oneness of God. I am not happy with the

traditional Trinitarian Christian formulation of God

comprising three "Person"-Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The word "Person" has changed since it was first used in

English four centuries ago. It was a translation of Latin

persona-a face or mask, such as that used by actors. Now

the English word means an individual, which is different.

Christianity is not trying to say that God comprises three

individuals. Islam, with its many different names for the

qualities of God, can help the Christian see a more true

meaning of Trinitarian doctrine."
