S About us

Our team provides comprehensive orthopaedic care, including specialties and subspecialties

ranging from oncology to pediatrics, trauma to sports medicine, foot and ankle to spine care, and

joint replacement. We also offer pain management, physiatry, rehabilitation, physical therapy,

radiology, nontraditional providers and acupuncturists. Blue Cross has rated us as a center of

distinction in knee replacements, total joint replacement and spine care.

Coordinated care for complex conditions. Our team works closely together to treat difficult

problems that may require multiple specialists, including support from infectious disease

for trauma, joint, spine and tumor care. Our bone and soft tissue tumor team provides a

multidisciplinary approach with experts including orthopaedic surgeons, oncology surgeons,

oncologists, musculoskeletal radiologists, radiation oncologists and pathologists. We are also a

regional leader for spinal deformity surgery, including adult scoliosis treatment.

Thoughtful approach. While we offer total joint replacement, we also aim to preserve existing

joints and native body parts as long as possible, and provide treatments including cartilage

transplantation, hip arthroscopies and pelvic osteotomies.

Constant communication, simple access. Our goal is frequent communication with you about

your patient’s condition, treatment and prognosis. We also understand your time is valuable; you

can easily refer a patient by sending us a fax, call us for patient consultations, and get easy, secure

online access to your patient’s medical record via OHSU Connect.

Groundbreaking research. Our ongoing clinical research projects include:

• Cartilage transplantation and resurfacing

• Innovative and new treatments for fractures

• Gait and balance problems related to the spine

• Functional results of spine surgery

• Cell-based treatment of chondral and osteochondral defects

• Concussion management

• Carpal tunnel treatment

• Hip arthritis treatment

• Spondylitis

• Pediatric and adult sarcoma care

Traveling Continuing Medical Education (CME)Our team strives to provide relevant education to fellow health

care professionals; one way we do so is through our Traveling CME

courses. These one-hour, CME-accredited sessions are facilitated

by OHSU physicians and may take place at your clinic, allowing for

required education credits to be earned in the convenience of your

own offices.

Topics offered include:

• Conservative treatment of spine pain

• Electrodiagnostic interpretation for primary care physicians

• Evaluation of a bone lesion

• Orthopaedic emergencies

• Osteoarthritis of the hip and knee

• Prevention of ACL injuries

• Rotator cuff tears

• Sports medicine and concussions

To learn more about our courses or to schedule a lecture, please contact OHSU provider relations

manager Dina Girgenti-Iida at 503-494-6535 or email [email protected].
