Communication: •Please don’t wait for the mole hill to grow into the mountain!•If situations arise that might be a mitigating factor in your child’s performance, please let me know.•I can most effectively reach each child when I understand their situation.•Together we can accomplish more.

Attendance •Be here and be on time! School begins at 7:55!!!•If you’re not here, you can’t learn.•When students are late, they don’t have the opportunity to communicate with me or their peers before school, organize themselves, turn in work on time, or get extra help.•Please get a good start to your day!

Homework:•Reading log • Read for 20 minutes• Lexia can be in place of Silent Reading

•Each week your child is given a homework sheet• These sheets can be turned in on any day of the

week. • Neatly and complete sentences • Reading part of the homework sheet can count as

one night of their reading log.

**Any unfinished work should be taken home for homework. **If your child is spending more than 30 minutes a night on homework please talk to me!

Spelling and Vocabulary•Students have 10 spelling words and 10

vocabulary words•Vocabulary words come from Flocabulary- these are words that students will see throughout 4th grade that may not be their every day language•Students have their words for TWO weeks. •Spelling/Vocabulary tests are every other Friday. •Once a spelling word has been given students are responsible for that word for the rest of the year.

Snack:•Each student is responsible for bringing their own snack to school.•Students eat their snack in the classroom. This is a privilege. Each student is responsible for cleaning up after themselves.•This privilege will be forfeited if students abuse the privilege.

Multiplication:•Multiplication tables are key in order for your child to be successful in 4th grade math. PLEASE make sure your child is practicing their multiplication facts until they are fast and fluent.

Lunch: •Students may bring their lunch or buy lunch from the cafeteria.•Each student is responsible for letting their parents know when their account balance is running low. Please re-fund immediately!•Please remember FES is a peanut free school. To ensure the safety of every child at Fairview please do not pack any peanut products.
