makeLab™ is the digital fabrication laboratory in the College of Architecture and Design at Lawrence Technological University. makeLab™ was established by Jim Stevens, Assistant Professor of Architecture, as a response to emerging technologies and the need for a place for students to fully engage in the design, fabrication, and assembly of architecture. Through makeLab,™ faculty, students, and the community at large engage in teaching, research, and outreach simultaneously. The process allows students to advance their own designs while involving them in faculty research. Students not only create client-driven projects, but learn the technology and skills necessary to digitally fabricate their designs. This hands-on approach to architecture, allows for a unique relationship between design and making. // about makeLab™ // At Lawrence Tech you will find a warm, welcoming community dedicated to excellence.
