MeaningThe rate of calls terminating in failure on a channel is above the threshold value set by the operator. The alarm is used to supervise the functioning oftraffic and signaling channels, and to detect the possible faulty channels.

Channel Release procedure

Note:Whenever a channel is released with a release cause other than a normal one, the counter of channel failures for the released channel is incremented. After a certain observation time and a certain threshold it will reported in the 7745 alarm. For each TRX exceeding the thresholds and having interferencea 10day/24h breakdown is shown.- Check the 10-day/24-hour breakdown charts to find out what the pattern is.- If you suspect that the interference is from the BS itself (constantband 5 interference e.g. in all sectors) you may setthe power to minimum for a while (this means that calls cannot be made!)and check from the BSC MML with ZERO command if the interference level hasgone down in idle time slots. Then put the power back to the initial level.- After you have found the cells with obvious external UL interferenceyou maya) mark the cells having a similar interference pattern on the map withthe same colour and see if the antenna directions point to a certain place- It is also a good idea to check whether the cell is not reported by report 062,which could mean interference from an own adjacent cell.b) use Undefined Adjacent Cell measurement (possibly with the idle state BAlist to define what are the strongest frequencies in the band that are notadjacent cells.c) You may also run the report 210 to get more details about the cell.

For all TRXs exceeding the thresholds and having frequency changed during thegiven time period a 10day/24h breakdown is shown. The value of zero means thatthere are no calls. Frequency changes must be considered when analysinginterference behaviour.
