CSC Background and History

Cairo Scientific Corporation was the updated face of an older company {Middle East Medical [MEM]} founded in 1989 and served as distributor for medical equipment in Egypt till end of 1992. In 1993 CSC acquired MEM to be its medical equipment division under the name of CSC Medical.

Owing to the Continuous changes in the market, e.g. Economy, Market size, Competition, New trends and technologies, a separate company was founded in March 1997 with a versa-tile strategy to suit such changing market. This was Cairo Scientific Corporation, a company that is rich in experts’ human resources, making great strides towards gaining larger market segments in medical field community.CSC Strategy

Cairo Scientific Corporation uses several methods to influence the market. It keeps thrust of the modern ways of management that includes creative thinking, surveys, market study, market creation, and sales assistance programs. Another influential means that Cairo Scientif-ic Corporation uses is Co-opting. We have strong selection of key members in the market. We always increase, protect, and enrich these relations. Moreover, we select some of them as consultants to the company which helps to deal more effectively with the market, as well as stabilizing our business in face of changing elements in the market.

2- AB Care for Medical Supplies; the Egyptian subsidiary of Banaja Holdings the well-reputed, strong and powerful financed Saudi Group having representation in Egypt, Saudia Arabia and UAE with Turnover of about 1.5 Billion USD

CSC is one of the leading medical equipment representatives in Egypt with 42 companies represented between European, American and far Eastern Suppliers. In addition to several new acquisitions still in the pipe lines.

CSC Sales and Marketing Strategy

The Egyptian healthcare system is centrally operated .The state holds executive responsibility for the provision of healthcare, with a predetermined level of free care university available. Over the last years, however, the gover ment has introduced an increasing amount of service fees and incentive-based schemes to the public health system.Health services can now be divided into three broad categories; Government sector, Public sector and private sector . CSC sells to all these sectors hospitals and clinics. Its largest custom-er is Kasr El-Aini Hospital, which is Egypt’s largest hospital with c. 10,000 beds. CSC’s second largest customer, Alexandria International Hospital, has c. 5,000-6,000 beds. Collectively these two hospitals, along with c. [300] other public sector hospitals with c. 2,000-3,000 beds, com-prise c. 30% of CSC equipment revenue, In addition to the biggest University hospitals ation-wide.

CSC Capital Investments

�Health sector Investment; CSC owns 25% of Nile Heart company (NH), a hospital Managementservice provider launched operations in Septem-ber, 2011. NH was founded in 2009; its firstacquired Project was the management of Teach-ers Hospital in Cairo. NH is Shareholder company with the following Legal structure

� Agricultural Investment; CSC owns 3000 Acre in El-Farfrah Valley-south West Egypt – For Agricultur-al reclamation.� Touristic Investment; MarsaAllm commercial and Residential Touristic center in Hurgdah -Red Sea Coast-.

As for the private sector CSC sells to the biggest medical centers mainly in Cairo, Alexandria, El Man-sura, Elmenia, and Upper Egypt and plans to target the remaining healthcare institutions in Egypt.

CSC has been able to diversify its customer base by offering the private sector customers’ a financing program to encourage sales and overcome the current marked market recession. This program is funded through CSC banking collaterals. The Equipment is sold to the client with installment over 3 to 4 years with Egyptian interest rate. We started this program since 1998. It has been very successful and assisted a lot of customers.

CSC After Sale & Service Strategy

CSC Service Center is a specialized technical service center. It successively rolled out a 12/6 system and periodical user follow-up protocol after product installation, which have made the after-sale service high-quality and efficient to ensure satisfactory service for customers in a timely manner.

CSC service revenue is based upon:

� Service contracts after warranty period calculat-ed as a percentage of the capital equipment value ranging from 10%-15%.� Individual spare parts sales quotes according to direct customers’ requests.� Direct Service calls.� Currently the service team is composed of 8 biomedical engineer trained by the different suppliers.
