1. Introduction

UIDAI has come with a custom SFTP client which is secure, enables upload of unique packets and is supported by analytical reports on the number of packets uploaded. Lack of feedback on the enrolment packets uploaded, has been a major issue faced by Enrolment Agencies.

1.1 Aadhaar SFTP Client

1.2 Terminology

a) UIDAI – Unique Identification Authority of India b) SFTP – Secure File Transfer Protocol c) CIDR – Central Identification Repository d) OTP – One Time Password e) IST – Indian Standard Time

1.3 Pre-requisites

Minimum Requirements for Aadhaar SFTP Installation - Hardware and Software (minimum) Specification:

Network connectivity – 1MBps

Operating System – Win XP 1.5 GHz Processor 2 GB Ram 50 MB HDD .net Framework 3.5 For Optimal performance Operating System – Win 7 Core i3 1.8 GHz Processor 4 GB Ram 50 MB HDD .net Framework 3.5

2. SFTP Installation Document

The new version of the Aadhaar SFTP client is released and can be downloaded from the link below – http://upload.uidai.gov.in.

1) Download the zip file. 2) Unzip the file. 3) Run setup .exe file to start installation. 4) Follow on screen instructions below to install the Aadhaar SFTP client.

5) After you double click the setup.exe file the installer will start. Click Next.

6) Select the path for installation and click on next –

Everyone option should be selected.

7) Confirm the Installation and click next ,will start installation

8) Confirm Installation once the installation is complete.

9) After the installation completes press “Close”. Once the installation is completed please restart the SFTP.

10) Once the client is installed, double click on the SFTP icon as shown in the figure below - top

11) Registration window pops up please fill up the registration from and press register.

Enrolment Agency Code : Unique Four digit EA Code assigned by UIDAI. Registrar Code : Unique Three digit Registrar Code assigned by UIDAI. Aadhaar SFTP Client Code : Any Five digit station id ( Client Code can be the Aadhaar Enrolment Station Code also). Click on Register, for Aadhaar SFTP Client registration.

12) Restart the Aadhaar SFTP Client.

13) Check your Mobile and Email id for OTP password.

14) OTP password will be sent to registered mobile number

15) Click on OTP Activation tab as highlighted below -

16) Enter OTP password

17) Restart Aadhaar SFTP Client.

18) Click on Load Packets to upload CIDR Packets –

19) Successful Packets Uploaded.

20) If the OTP password expires after 6 hours

21) Shutdown the Aadhaar SFTP Client.

22) After restart click on Regenerate Tab – as highlighted below

23) Enter OTP password if received on registered mobile :

24) If the OTP password is not received click on Regenerate OTP

25) Restart the client.

27) Once the OTP is verified will get the confirmation message.

2.1 Reconcile Utility –

1. Click on Reconcile Packets tab. 2. Click on Start Utility.

3. Select the options a. Queue Packet To Upload b. Filter Duplicates To Remove duplicate packets if any. c. Reconcile Packets For Reconciliation.

2.2 Upload Reports

1) To view reports click on Upload Transactions and select the report based on

Packets queued

2) Filename (EID’s) with Timestamp.

i. The real time reports are also available to EA admin on the analytics portal which can be accessed at http://upload.uidai.gov.in, For that initially the EA’s can make a request and get a login.

ii. Pictorial representation of different modes of packet upload i,e SFTP, USB , Media Drives (Disk Upload) etc

iii. Monthly wise packet information and volume to CIDR packet upload.

iv. Aadhaar Analytics report will also display the packets uploaded for specific date,

time taken to upload and volume of data uploaded.

The report will give station wise upload transactions with Data Volume.

v. The report will further give drill down break-up of the packets uploaded from specific enrolment station. Futher report can be drilled down to individual packet.

2.3 UN-Installing Aadhaar SFTP

14. To Un-Install SFTP client, GO to Control Panel Add and remove programs (win XP) / Program and features (Win 7) and un-install Aadhaar SFTP Client.

3. FAQ :

a) Below error is seen if Aadhaar SFTP server is not activate by UIDAI Techsupport – Email [email protected] for activation.

b. For network errors please contact your network administrator.

c. While uploading the client getting an network error ?

Check your network connectivity or broadband connection.

d. When logged to Aadhaar SFTP client getting an error ?

The one time password (OTP) is expired. Click on regenerate password to get

new password.

e)To check Connectivity can be checked by following below instructions – i. Click on help tab Test Connectivity

ii.Select Analytics Server or SFTP Server

iii.Successful connection message pop will be seen once connection is established to CIDR server.
