Trimming

We trimmed the clips down using the CTRL-B tool and dragged either side of the clip (depending

which bit we intended to move) to make the clip shorter. We then deleted any black space between

the clips so they ran into each other smoothly. As you can see the clip has been shortened through

the use of this tool. This CTRL-B tool is called the ripple tool, with this tool selected; Premiere

automatically fills in any gap those results from clicking and dragging to trim a clip.

Cutting up the Footage

We used the C tool in Premier to cut clips up so that pieces of footage that we wished to keep could

be separated from footage we wished to remove, this made the process of attempting to meet the 1

minute time criteria far easier. We then used the V tool to return to the ordinary selection tool.

As you can see in the print screens the cut tool was used to cut one clip up, the first half to be

removed the second half to be kept.

Colour Correcting and Exporting

We used the red green and blue colour correcting tool, to edit the levels of each of these colours

throughout the piece. Once we had found a balance with the RGB colour tool we then applied this to

the whole short film. This was done due to a lack of time, had we had more time we would have

done each scene one by one changing the levels of R, G and B so that they set the mood and convey

the emotion of each scene.

Once we had finished the project we exported it. We exported the film in the format H264 and the

preset for the viewing of the material was set at HDTV 1080p 24fps. Then we gave the file an

appropriate output name and selected to export video and audio and clicked export.
